This week we are headed to one of the better RCRs of the year and it was the first course this designer has ever made, National Golf Links of America by beamt0wn tgctours.proboards.com/thread/28875/national-golf-links-americaWould highly recommend you check out his more detailed thread about the course, its history, and the work he put in to make sure it was as close to real life as possible. He created a fictional set of tournament tees that are farther back than anything in real life, but we aren't using them every round. For a couple of them we moved the tees up to the real spots and let the video game bombers take their shot. Should make for a fun shootout this week. Hope everyone enjoys. Here is a course pic in the designer, along with a photography shot from a similar spot (the next tee up from the green in the foreground) from www.pjkoenig.com/ From the designer: First opened for play in 1911, National Golf Links of America was CB Macdonald's lifelong project and is widely considered to be his crowning achievement. This strategic masterpiece presents players of every ability level with several tactical options on nearly every hole, expertly balancing risk and reward. The fabulous out-and-back routing and marvelous (often wild) green complexes combine to ensure that a change in wind direction and pin placement will drastically alter the hole-to-hole strategy. This course is infinitely replayable. Tee and pin locations were verified from firsthand knowledge of the course as well as satellite imagery, resulting in an experience that is as close as possible to the real thing. New tee locations were added on #1, 3, 7, 8, 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, and 18 to accommodate longer hitters. For an authentic experience, play from the blue, green, or red tees and use a driver with a carry of 270 yards or less. Be sure to set the wind to high before you start!

Our final 3 weeks of the season will be at: Week 48 - The HighlanderWeek 49 - Sattler Heads - Blue (Platinum will be playing on Sattler Heads - Black, so fun little double up) Week 50 - 17 Mile Club These represent our "playoffs" in that they all have purses over 7 million for those of you chasing money list standings. No word yet on the exact timing of starting the next season, but there will be a couple of weeks of a break (at least) to let the admins reset the site for next season. Similar to what we did with TGC2019 when multiple seasons were played on the same game.

off to my strongest start since getting up here. 61-64 for -19 and currently T6. at the very least i'll be erasing that pesky demo mark, but i'll be gunning to convert a promo point or two.
great to hear there are discussions underway about next season already. having played every tournament since october 2020, i could probably use a couple weeks off minimum lol

Really enjoyed the course but couldn't make a putt to save my life. Opening round first 2 holes I drove the greens. . .and 3 putted both of them. Really didn't get much better from there. -9 through the opening 2 and it'll be a missed cut for me this week.

Didn't think I'd make the cut after slapping the ball around back and forth 4 times on the green of the 12th hole in round one (I see you there pin at the top of a crowned green). I suppose taking 2-3 seconds to line up a putt just may be to my own detriment. Will give the last two a go. Elite seems to be the right fit for my play/level after 4 weeks plus this week mid way through. Good luck to those with rounds still left to play.

yeah pin 1 on the 12th has not been a crowd favorite lol. but since the course was such a personal project for me and that's the pin location i had to play to when i tripled the hole irl, i decided to use it. but in retrospect i think it was the wrong call, at least at default speeds. that's one of several changes i'd like to make when i port it to the next game. but until then... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

i'm gonna also guess that the pin on hole 1 in the 4th round is gonna give folks some grief, but... 🚨DESIGNER HINT🚨
while you're on the first tee, maybe take a moment to admire the lovely fountain outside of the clubhouse... such a nicely manicured spot, isn't it? nice view of the course from there, too...

I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, I made a cut, sorry i got a bit over excited when typing, because I made a cut I played ok for me, few bits of luck here and there, few brain farts also, but that come naturally Thought i'd play the final rd Vs Cecil Harvey (Turn-Based) as have not had a round with Bob in a while, nip and tuck all the way, Bob was 1up playing the last, I eagled out from just off the green, and Bob's eagle putt just slipped by, A/S was the final outcome. So i finished -29 for the event, best finish since Liverpool last Won the League Title Well Played All.

I thought that pin was fine, but I holed out from 45 yards for eagle, so...
