Welcome to The Highlander, a collab project between me and jwtexan , a fictional course set in the northern Scottish Highlands somewhere. This project started in December with an idea Wes had, I built the plot, and after a slow 8 months it's finally ready. About a month ago we called in SkinniePost and mvpmanatee to help us work on the town, port, church, and all the other and extras - huge thanks to those two for giving us the spark plug we needed. This wouldn't have been possible without them. I could talk about this build for hours and all the creativity it took to make this work but while you all wait for Wes to hit the button tonight, here are a few glamour shots.

Had a lot of fun with this project. Thomas absolutely crushed the plot and pot bunkers. Many people have taken different approaches on pots with hedges, steps, etc. and Petro used dead logs. Got the method from hickoryghost here: tgctours.proboards.com/thread/26155/pot-bunkers-hacks. I really hope HB/2K finally step up in the next game and give us a way to either create the rivets as a surface or give a bunker option with rivet lips in general. Would be a huge addition. This course is a wild one with some quirky holes for sure, but should be a relaxing round. For the routing nerds like myself: Lots of realignment talk going on with my Texas Longhorns headed to the SEC. Made us in the KEG reflect on an obvious addition we should make too. With this publish, we’d like to formally welcome Petro to the KEG. ***Should be publishing around 9pm central tonight, toddler mood dependent in my house. Just in time for No Tempo Tuesday!

Course is up and published. Green speeds are 173s, couple of tee sets that can be used pretty interchangeably. Would recommend high winds in an east or west (or NW/SE) direction for a fun cross breeze on most holes.

Bunker faces look good, but they don't play so good. HB really need to make proper sod-faced bunkering available in the engine.

The Northern Scottish environment was very authentic. Esp. loved the holes lower in elevation and closer to the sea and aroud the halfway house. Not so much love for the revetted bunkers however which detracted from the authenticity a little. Would have liked to have seen them blown out and bearded to complement the rugged location and terrain. Overall a very enjoyable course.

Loved my round here. This is some great use of quirk in these hole designs that I’m all for! Great effort to the both of you and the town and port really drive it all home.

hey bubba, I gotta give you props. You make plots that are simply wonderful for creating golf courses. I dig the course, it's a lot of fun. But the plot design is what really stands out for me. Thanks for the publish! Keep pushing the envelope.

Forgot to mention... for the setting you've created, the lighting is absolutely perfect and very true to the real Highlands haha. Cracking job!
