I’ll just add. Something people are missing about the atmosphere TanMan created. This area of Norway is where at times it has 24 hours of sunlight. The lighting is a little dark for you? Well imagine you are actually playing at 2am. How cool is that? Then just have fun and swing. If a unique quirk of a country given to him in a competition to make a unique course in that country doesn’t float your boat then I don’t know what to tell you. To be honest I don't think a lot of CC players care about playing a round at 2 a.m, they're more concerned about seeing and enjoying the course. There will be a lot that don't even know about the National Treasure contest, they're just here to play their rounds and have fun. Don't get me wrong I think it's a great course and the designer executed it well, but there will be a few players that won't enjoy the lighting.

I thought the lighting was fine, although I did get to play on our nice new telly in the lounge being as the wife and kids are away for a few days. Didn't even know it was contentious until I read this thread!
Course looks great, although I'm not a fan of the big buried grasses. In the wind it looks like they're running around. The downhill water wasn't executed the best either, although looked good from distance. But a beautiful environment and a fun fantasy course. We had a RCR links last week, nothing wrong with variety.
However, not very Xbox friendly (or anyone else struggling for tempo). I've made the cut (hopefully), lost the will to fight after that. Not the designer's fault.

Course is very playable, but the penalties for errors because of the changes in elevation are very drastic. Had a solid round 1 going and suddenly lost the touch for 4 holes and dropped six shots with three balls in the water. Was in play to make the cut at +4 and was closing in on E in round 2 when a flub cost me all my momentum. Inexplicably missed 2 5 footers down the stretch and sit +9... felt like I played well enough to be E... just tried to play too fast without accounting for all the factors.

First round 68 (-2). I was -4 through 14 holes, only to triple bogey the 15th after finding water off the tee and then again on my approach shot. I birdied the 17th and 18th to finish on a good note.
My tempo for the round was probably the best it has been for a long time, if not ever. I par'd the first 6 holes, however two-putted each of them missing some very makeable birdies. Greens are a bit tricky but I should have nailed some of the 6 footers.
I should make the cut in CC-E avoiding a disaster in R2, but this course can have you blowing up your scorecard in no time so fingers crossed.
I know the comments on the course have been a bit negative, but I think its a very nice course visually. I only had one bad lighting experience on a green where I couldn't see anything, but apart from that was okay for me.

I love courses like this; it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea but there are loads of opportunities for scoring combined with severe penalties for errors, hence the wild scoring in my first round. I was: +5 after 7 (bogey at 4, doubles at 6 & 7) E after 11 (streak of birdie, birdie, birdie, eagle on holes 8-11 +7 after 15 (triple at 12, doubles at 13 & 15)
A good score is there, whether I'll ever find it remains to be seen.

Not all our eyes are as sharp as you young whippersnappers!! No problem for me on the PC but I have seen screenshots of it looking very dark. Thought the course looked better personally in the Round 3 lighting where you were able to take in all the surroundings. I felt it was a little on the tricky side to be aimed at CC where a course like this highlights the massive gulf in abilities that is having to be catered for in the CC division from CC-A to CC-L. Not sure one size fits all. It's a shame the split between the CC divisions wasn't retained this season where the lower half of CC was given something slightly less challenging than the upper half imo.

Just struggled throughout with a ton of bogeys. Completely different from the first round. I know conditions were tougher with the back tees and high winds but still very poor. A very challenging course with the different elevations but I still enjoyed it, despite completely messing up my second round and tournament. At +6 through two rounds now which is two shots outside the cut line in CC-E. Shouldnt have any demo marks incurred but its back to back missed cuts since being promoted

As I am in the lower half, CC-K, I'll just chime in and say I don't mind the challenging courses like this at all. I like to be challenged. I frequently play the Kinetic course for practice.
Since all of us in CC-K are playing the same course, doesn't matter how challenging it is. I'd rather have a great challenging course like this over a flat boring course.

Fair comment but I stand by what I said. I’m not saying the lower half of CC shouldn’t be challenged but perhaps they shouldn’t be challenged so fiercely? I preferred the old CC split where the lower half were given a slightly easier challenge than the upper half.
