I played this course as practice on all default and had to give up after 4 holes because it was too dark for me (PS4 and colour blind), so I went into this week mildly concerned about my ability to complete the week. However, all 4 rounds in CC were fine visually for my set up. The course itself is a masterpiece of environment setting and understanding of the design tools available. I’m not a fan of big elevation drops and gains or a fan of playing lots of shots on the side of hills, but that’s just me. I particularly liked the green sculpting (on most holes) giving you the option to shape shots to the pin.

Just got my first practice round in... course is pretty amazing. Reminds me of Te Amo awhile back where you really have to account for 3 major variables (change in elevation, stance, and wind... fortunately not many shots from the rough) and know how those are going to play. Some of the uphill shots you have to concede distance (Driver) just to make sure you have the loft to reach the right surface. Played even par except a disaster Quad on 16 where my approach shanked to the bottom of the hill in front of the green and took 3 shots to get up.
And how bad ass is the Norwegian flag on that pier?

Did 2 rounds in a couple over par thinking the whole thing was a lot of fuss about nothing.
Then had a bad tempo round and shot 20 over.
I think the course is nice if you're playing OK, but if you mess up it will eat you alive.

The course is fun, but the weather settings are a joke. Really getting tired of the TGCT after dark crap. Who cares how beautiful your course is if no one can see it? Especially given that it's set in a place that gets like 19 hours of sunlight this time of year.

My final tournament scores if I make the cut are 76, 70, 92, 74. Saturday is moving day, after all.

+1 round 1 and -5 round 2, tricky course. Should avoid demos at least on CC-B which is great after the triple promotion last week to erase all my demotion marks!

Why can't we play a realistic golf course instead of an arcade game. Rocks piles everywhere. Be forewarned - if you miss or roll off No. 7 green to the left it will roll all the way down the hill into the water. No. 18 hit on the fringe of green, rolled down hill through another green 47 yards from where it hit. Not a fan of this golf course. I think this is a real fun course to play. Elevation changes and navigation is fun at times. Plus you can still play the Platinum, Elite and Kinetic tourneys. I love the TGC Tours because of the different courses to play. And we had played all kinds of realistic courses all season. Mixing it up is good and it doesn’t get stale course wise. As for this CC course this week play a practice round prior to see where the bad misses are…….if you had shot -14 I doubt you would be complaining.

Meh, lighting leaves a lot to be desired, but other than that, it seems like a pretty typical tgctours gimmicky course/set-up.

This course is gorgeous! Its also pretty challenging and makes you think. I have no idea what people are talking about with the lighting, I think its absolutely beautiful and I love the dusky sunset time of day. I have what is considered an older computer and I have no trouble at all seeing.
I like courses like this. Aesthetics are great, and the challenges are there, but not run of the mill, you have to think. I played my first round, bombing away, and didn't do well. Second round, I took advice of some in this thread and slowed it down and played very conservatively, and did a whole lot better.
HB studios wrecked two of my holes but still managed to squeak into the cut, I think. Looking forward to rounds three and four later in the week.

Dear Santa, because I’ve been good this year can I have one consistently good week of pixel golf? Just one please? Rd1 -14 Rd2 -5 finished on -34. After that opening round I should’ve won this week Grrrrrrrrrrrr. Not tempo issues or anything that can be blamed on anyone but me.

What is it with people and hating on dark lighting? Its meant to be atmospheric. Stop complaining and deal with it, honestly sick of lighting complaints by now. Thank you.

I’ll just add. Something people are missing about the atmosphere TanMan created. This area of Norway is where at times it has 24 hours of sunlight. The lighting is a little dark for you? Well imagine you are actually playing at 2am. How cool is that? Then just have fun and swing.
If a unique quirk of a country given to him in a competition to make a unique course in that country doesn’t float your boat then I don’t know what to tell you.

I'm not a fan of the dark lighting, and I think the course looks a helluva lot better without it. There's many here who'll have poorer vision than mine and it may make the course harder for them to view. So if you don't like people's complaints about something that has nothing to do with you then scroll by.

I'll just kinda go with what trailducker said - people have to imagine that they are in that kind of atmosphere in real life.
