So a month or so ago, I got a Netgear POE switch from staples to keep on the work van. I usually keep one on there, then just sell it if I have to install it to make something work. Used my rewards card, no biggie. They have my work email because we get coupons.
The switch stayed on the van the whole time until yesterday. Yesterday, I needed to create a situation on my workbench, so I went out and got the switch on the van, brought it in my office, hooked it up on our network, and used to to program a projector and controller for it.
Today, I am finished, ready for the install tomorrow. I unplug everything, and put it in boxes to take to the job site.
I turn around, from unplugging the Netgear switch, and immediately an email pops up from Staples, asking me how I liked it my Netgear switch, detailing the exact one I just unplugged, and to please go review it.
think about that a minute.
You guys got any stories like this?

It ain’t Big Brother who’s watching us. He’s too busy with bigger fish than us. Lol.
Corporations are free to get us any way they want.
Imagine all the info your phone apps alone are providing corporations for “marketing purposes and customer feedback”.
