Week 42 takes us to another National Treasure design contest course. This one is from @mctrees02 , or is it GeraldEpee, who can say... Either way we are off to Cuba. This is a course that lets you find plenty of fairways, but the approaches are the challenge. All the greens are well protected, even if there is not a hazard near by. Good luck to everyone as we get closer and closer to the end of the season and into our final events! From the designer: Playa Pilar is located on Cayo Guillermo, an island off the northern coast of Cuba that is known for its clear, shallow coastal waters, towering sand dunes and beaches like Playa el Paso, Playa del Medio and...Playa Pilar. Pilar was also the name of Hemingway's boat (and his second wife's nickname)

Decided to bite the bullet and rip off all four of my rounds last night.
I was crusing through about 33 holes at -24 until I felt the wrath of what some of these greens can do with the pin placements as I double bogeyed a short par 4 due the the greens rolling off hard on the backside.
This course that can really ruin your round/tournament if you're not paying attention as you do not want to have to get up and down on some of these holes. If I remember correctly I had three double bogeys in the tournament.
I ended up righting the ship and finishing -23 at the cut. 59(-13) 62(-10)
I probably should have stopped after that as rounds 3 and 4 were extremely underwhelming as my putter went cold and made dumb mistakes on the greens. 67(-5) 64(-8) for a -36 for the week.
Im pretty confident that should sneak a top 15 this week and get me into Platinum next week just in time for the British Open!

Was more of a more “accommodating” course with all the fast red issues. Really was a nice layout and fun too play. Shot -9 for 36 and sure I will miss the cut again. Signifying my last round on the elite tour
Been fun guys and gals

This course and I got along fairly well. Didn't have as many tempo issues as I've had with others recently which made the playing experience a little more tolerable. The green complexes definitely made me think not just about where I want to hit it but on some where I'd rather miss. With the runout they had, and some running front to back, there were times I definitely played to one side or another to have a better chance at getting up and down. That thought process started after the very first hole. . .I hit a black fast shot into the green and the ball just rolled off but there was virtually nowhere to stop the ball around the hole from off the green and my chip ran down the hill leaving me with probably 30ft or more and an opening bogey. Interesting way to play the course (play the miss for an easier par) and one that resulted in better looks at par rather than letting those green slopes take the ball where they want and possibly giving a really tough up and down.
Played well enough in rounds 1 (-7) and 2 (-9) so hoping that gets me in to the weekend. Even with the up tees on r3, the wind combined with those greens definitely slowed me down a bit as I only managed a -4 so that's my bad round of the week. Round 4 I got around in -10 without any real drama to speak of. After really having to hone in with the wind on r3 the calmer r4 conditions definitely had me firing at more pins.

I made the mistake of signing up on here under my PSN handle when I use mctrees02 literally everywhere else. Unfortunately it can’t be changed on the back end so I’m stuck.
