Fantastic course Q! Challenging and fun! Really love how you sculpted around the course and used subtle color scheming with the planting. Very Natural. The lighting especially with how you did the dark clouds that blended into the mountain ranges was awesome.

Big fan of the moody lighting obviously. Have to agree with this - I think my favourite lighting settings are the ones with greyed-out, softer skies (that said, Te Amo in contrast pulled off low lighting beautifully).

You can blame pablo for the lighting, I saw how he did his NT course and I loved it so much I ended up modifying the lighting on this course in a similar way, tried to make my lighting look more cold than his but the concept is very similar

Played this early this morning. Was enamored with the environment and off course work. I need to play again, hopefully without the distractions of the beauty baked into this course to see if I can score better. Great Work My Man!

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone. I'm always hypercritical of my own stuff and there's already a lot I would do different (tour version coming soon hopefully!). I took a lot for risks (as I always do lol) and I'm glad holes like 3 seem to be received well.

I’ve decided to work my way through the library of National Treasure courses and give my thoughts on all of them for a bit of fun. Firstly, I think this is probably one of the best examples of an environment/ landscape being created. It felt cohesive, natural and it all made sense - definitely hit Russia in my opinion! I also think that this is the best clubhouse that I’ve ever seen.
The hole designs in isolation are fantastic, fitting into the landscape brilliantly, but my only real criticism of the whole piece is the overall layout. Personally, I think th course would have been better if the nines were reversed; as it is, the first three holes feels like a bit of a quirky start and it took until the 4th hole of the round for me to feel like I was starting to settle in. It’s difficult to articulate the feeling that I got, but it didn’t feel like the first three holes of a course to me if that makes sense. Also, I LOVED the view on the 8th tee, and wouldn’t complain if that was later in the round to give me something to spend all day looking forward to in future rounds.
Blind shots were used cleverly (although playing with scout cam, somewhat trivial to negotiate). I particularly liked how the bunker on 16 shows you where the fairway ends without being able to see it, although I think I’m right in saying that that’s the only blind tee shot and perhaps would have been better earlier in the round to help with cohesion once again, but maybe I’m just trying to add weight to my argument of switching the nines. There are a couple of hidden bunkers over backs of greens which I’m not the biggest fan of, but to each their own.
Obviously a fantastic course, you don’t need me to say that much! Best of luck in the contest, not that you’ll need it.

I would love to see you build a links-type course like this. Pot bunkers and grassy knolls. I think this course really was at its best where you had the smaller pot-like bunkers. That being said, the bigger bunkers were sculpted really well. Also, something something no plat level links courses Plus, boynsy don’t be afraid to nitpick tf out of my NT with your critiques.

Best of luck in the contest, not that you’ll need it. You picked out the thing I wavered on the most! Due to the greens and tees being clumped I had reorganized the hole order over and over. The current 9s were reordered for reasons that I actually ended up fixing before release mainly due to me blowing up holes right up to the deadline. Biggest issue if you flip the 9s is you end up with both short 5s almost back to back (18 and 2 would become 9 and 11). There's an entirely different route though than flipping the 9s! original layout was (1, 16, 14,15, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) (7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18) Notice that 6 ends at the clubhouse as well. I ended up scrapping this layout mainly due to the routing being a bit boring directionally

looks ashtonishing, particular atmosphere... i like it a lot... especially the trees... ...never had so much coast to coast on greens as i did on this russian land... the ball was like a white lada out of control in dashcam clips... 🤣🤣🤣 very nice job!
