Welcome to the AMERICAN OPEN, the toughest event of the year mirroring the toughest real world PGA MAJOR of the year! This version of the course by none other than b101 himself was made specifically to challenge the best of the best, the cream of the crop. Par is a good score on MOST of these holes! Anyone who shoots well here is a true legend and I hope winning at this event will feel like a real accomplishment. I will absolutely love watching some of you absolutely tear apart this course and will be popping into streams to see how you all are doing! Modeled off of a combination of Streamsong and Shinnecock, this rollercoaster of a course can easily eat you for breakfast and sports all of the famous US Open tropes we commonly see: -Par 4s that are very much blatant Par 5s? Check -Having to layup on Par 4s if you miss the fairway? Check -Absolutely insane greens pushed to the very limits of their playability? Check -Postcard Size Landing Zones? Check -Insane Heroic shots that allow you to score if you take a huge risk? Check -Holes Where Bogey is a good score? Ohhhhh Yeeessss. There are both Eagle Opportunities and Bogey Opportunities abound, not to mention some just outright unfair pins and holes. Just remember, everyone here is playing the same course this week, and it only gets easier in the coming weeks. There is a breather week coming next week, a light at the end of the tunnel per se. So enjoy this unique course and a completely unique level of difficulty unrivaled by any course ever put on tour!

Another great choice of course this week, Q, and definitely fits the idea of the event. The greens are obviously wild but that's exactly intentional haha. As Wes said above - this is gonna be good!

Still here... 😎😎😎
Guess I didn’t pick the best possible week to have bad tempo and a shaky putter... 😂😂😂
Ah well, at least I know I WILL be here next week.
Good luck all, Frans

I never thought this would be a TGC course.

I played first again on PS4. There's too much to worry on this course, I didn't need to see a leaderboard full of sharks between holes too!
R1: -3 (made 2 pars after going into water!) R2: -1
Tempo was great all night long. I'm actually very happy with the results. This is my best Platinium performance so far after 2 rounds, no matter where I finish. I wasn't nervous for once. Played my game.
There's a very thin line between a tough and a ridiculous course. This one sits right on the fence of all this. Some pin placement are just impossible to sit on. It was a great practice all week long, still glad it was scheduled.

Apart from a few shockers (e.g. the 11th green pin placements), the course is a mind bendingly fun challenge. A few grip it and rip it holes but most require iron like accuracy off the tee and nerves of steel on the green. Yeah the 11th caught me out in Rd1 after shaving the hole and having a longer return putt for par. Lucky to sink more long putts than usual in rd's 1 and 2 and ended up -10 at the halfway. I'm guessing a cut around -8 or -9. Unfortunately a few over in Rd4 with poor drives on a couple of the really long par 4's resulting in blow outs....and the 187 greens were harder to navigate. Ended up -10 overall. Cheers

-16 at the cut. Played really nicely, had 2 chip ins and a hole out eagle on the front nine rd1 to turn in -7 and then the course bit back with 17putts back nine to finish -8. Had it going again sitting -8 through 15 and decided to red fast a 3 wood in the drink on the downwind par 5 🙈 will probably rue the 10footer on16 and the 6foot birdie putt I missed on the last, come the end of the tournament but we’re in amongst it again. Let’s see what the weekend brings!
Good luck all on this mad golf course 🏌️♂️

It seemed like a pretty typical TGCTours pro course/set-up.
Here's a fun one. 3wd out of the fairway bunker, which normally I wouldn't try, but heck, I'm just playing along for "fun" and couldn't care less anymore. At any rate, I really didn't expect the ball would reach the green, but I had to chuckle when it did! lol.

I figured Scarif National was gonna be the course, but I’m not surprised it’s this beast. It’s kinda poetic tbh.
Welp, hopefully gonna not miss cuts in back to back weeks. But hopefully I played like how I practiced yesterday.
Also, gonna try and get even more #tgctoursauce

Looks like this is a real course this week deserving of the Platinum Tour, best of the best. Glad to see it. Almost enough to pull me out of retirement...almost

-14 thru 2 rounds. 2 bogeys from good looks at bird and just getting too aggressive. Missed a few other short ones which really hurt on this course.
Thought that would’ve been decent going into the event but the scoring is impressive so far.
Edit: very frustrating double on 17 R3 after being bogey free to there. That hole is a beast and I hate it 😂
R4, bogeyed the short par 4 7th after a grey slow got wet. Missed an easy putt on the next short par 4 12, 3-jabbed from 11’ on the next short par 4 15 with that silly pin and then got wet off the tee on 16. Super frustrating to finish at -23 but that’s the course.
P.S. had to flop one from 63’ on 9 green R3. Have the screenshot if required, was clearly no route to the hole without putting off the green.

Hardest course I've ever played on the tour. My first ever major event and what a humbling experience that was.
This was one of those courses where if you hit an 'ok' shot? The course would literally give you the finger and screw you over, I could almost hear it laughing 😅
All round great fun, would love to get to this stage again one day.
