Just played your course from the back tees and shot 69 (-3). I just published my 1st course - Catawba Crossings G.C. (TGC Approved) and am working on my 2nd.
First of all I enjoyed playing it - some nice ideas and some good looks with your planting. Needs a lot of work to make it better and get "Approved" if that is your goal. Highly recommend -
tgctours.proboards.com/thread/25823/newer-designers-tips-head-reviewer No. 2 - Liked the hole. Nice design, but I would take out the bunker in fairway to the right. It's hard enough landing area without it.
No. 3 - fairway gets too narrow.
No. 17 - don't see why there is O.B. between the tee and fairway.
also, bunkers should not be touching multiple surfaces.
I ended up re-doing each hole about 3 to 4 times to get it 'right'. I suggest you learn to 'spline' your fairways and greens - it is not that hard. Practice on part of your plot you didn't use and redo each fairway and green and then delete the brushes.
Watch -
He plays and reviews newer designers courses on a stream Monday thru Friday 1pm-4pm E.S.T. Can watch replays on youtube also.
Extremely good feedback on course design and playability.
Crazycanuck, B101 design, and The Joy of Planting are all great tutorials.
Please don't take this as being critical - I want to see you get better. But at the end of the day, the most important thing is that you enjoy designing and playing your course. Thanks, Bob
