Ive read all these posts about the swing mechanic frustration and I do agree its frustrating. I started playing in Jan this year after a long break since the TW games years ago. Just been playing in societies to date. I will be starting my tour qualification in the next week or so. Anyhow what I wanted to say is that I took a look at the average winning score in Platinum tour between Oct - Jan compared to the last few tournaments after the update. Average winning scores were -47 pre-update and -49 post update. I know all courses are different, etc, some easier some harder, but I think it shows that the top players have adapted. It can be done !! There is an explanation for this. On PS and PC you can calibrate your swing to widen the zone for perfect tempo and limit bad tempo misses. You might wanna watch these to see the picture: So yes, they have adapted, but not like you think.

Yeah HB made this calibration exploit for the privileged PS4 and PC mouse users so they can hit scores like golfing gods on the game and everyone can look on in awe how great they are at the game. It's great this competitive league isn't it and another kick in the nuts for Xbox gamers. Now I have the game on PC and PS4 but do I really want to hit the ball as straight as a robot. 🤔

I play on PC with an XBox One controller, and I know from experiementing with differnet controllers that they have all produce slightly different results when it comes to tempo and swing plane. And after watching those videos a few weeks back I experimented with my gaming mouse by lowering the DPI and calibrating as suggested, and I couldn't come anywhere close to producing a repeatable swing. This appears to be the biggest flaw in the game at the moment, and I wish they would have tackled this instead of messing with the swing mechanics. A lot of users have adapted but XBox users and some PC players with certain input devices are having a rough time.

Xbox has ALWAYS been the most difficult console to play this game on (TGC 2, TGC 2019 and 2K21).

Smijti If you read my comments on one of the video's you'll get more clarity. Here's a few copy and pasted points:
Every calibrated and non calibrated person receives some benefits of rounding, however, no matter the technique, or lack thereof, everyone except Xbox will still be playing within a 2ms window of one another. As I've said in other posts, if we gave 100% of the people on this site a PS4 and calibrated them to wired L/R edges 92% of them would still suck at the game. No joke. The top 8% are there for reasons beyond calibration techniques. In fact, even if we gave the 92% a perfect tempo and perfect swing line every single shot, they'd still fall short vs the top 8%.
So the benefit isn't as exaggerated as we thought at first glance. Remember, input Lottery is a real thing! Some people are unable to calibrate to PS4 wired L/R edges, or to my PC techniques, no matter what they do. HB has a lot of work to do moving forward. As it stands now, they have a very broken product.

Okay, thanks for clearing that up. My bad.

There are too many oddities in the game. The Pitch shot for example is broken. How can it be a 70 yard shot, I hit it 94% and in the middle and it only goes 30 yards?
Pet peeves (on PC)
- way too many inputs to quit the game. It takes like 5 buttong presses to finally exit the game. Small pet peeve but it's time to change this - too many bad bounces. Most times when the ball lands it skips away, not towards the pin. - way too many downhill putts. Well over 50% of my putts are always downhill. How is that possible? - yardage is way too innacurate in the short game once you do a pitch shot, splash, flop, bunker and so on.
I'm hpoing the next game they change the engine.

Played three rounds in CCA today, no tempo issues other than one random red slow that came out of nowhere. Felt like a completely different game and my scoring was much better.

This was a big frustration of mine, too. And it's the same on all shots, I think. I feel this is why so many people struggle with the splash shot, too...I really had a hard time with them, as well. Apparently, percentages shown are not 1:1 with results. The only time this seems to ever have been mentioned is on the HB forums, where a dev made a post about it the month after release. Honestly, it makes no sense to me how it's set up. Because what is shown on screen and the the result of the swing don't match up. Like you said, a 70-yard pitch that's hit at 94% only going 34 is not actual math.

Althogh lately I've had a few issues with bunker shots and the ball only going a few inches. I take this as more realistic because it happens to me many times in real golf haha.
Thanks cmattax for the ALT-F4 option. 6 hours ago

At the Links Corner site, they lay it all out how to play it on a new system, as mine is a brand new Dell with all bells and whistles..there is a nvidia patch on the site.

I take it people are suggesting you need to calibrate your swing often? Played all 4 rounds this week, -6, -8, -6 yesterday then the last round I played today and my tempo was way off. Couldn't hit anything in the middle, the only thing that saved me was my putter and shot even par last round.
This game is something... Next time I will play all 4 rounds in a row after calibrating, this is crazy.
