I’m currently working on a Lidar version of Sleepy Hollow Country Club (Upper), NY. Bit of background on the course can be found here: www.golfdigest.com/story/sleepy-hollow-country-clubThe course itself has gone through several renovations over the years, the most recent being done by Gil Hanse and George Bahto starting in 2007. This reno saw the original Macdonald holes brought back and with the work finally being completed the course is now rising through the rankings. Unfortunately, the lidar data available is not recent enough to capture the work done on the 1st, 3rd, 10th, 14th, 16th and 18th greens. I have spent hours remodelling the greens to reflect the present-day course. Source material for this work has mostly been online photos (for which there are literally 1000s given the course design and stunning vistas - particularly around 3, 5, 15 and 16) and more recently using the green book provided by StackaLine. Planting and bunkers are pretty much all done now and I have got the greens to a stage where I am ready to share this with you guys for comments and suggestions for improvements! Very much a beta, but I would love your feedback. Personally, I think this is one of the coolest courses around – really want to try and do the best job possible! The beta can be found on 2K21 under the name st6132sh050621Thanks and enjoy! Some pics: -

joegolferg for the best feedback you will get (if he has a chance - I know he's busy). Love the look of that Short. Best looking par three in golf, IMO.

Thanks to everyone for all the positive feedback so far.
In terms of work to be done - I’m spending a bit more time on the bunkers (both sculpting around the bunkers, particularly greenside, and also correcting the depths of certain bunkers). Some greens to tidy up still (2nd could be a little smoother and also 6th). Then some final planting and play testing (pin locations etc.).
Any other suggestions for me - please just shout!
Cheers.

What would really be nuts is to return it to the original MacRaynor 18 with the 14-17 loop that was lost when the club brought in Tillinghast and sold off that piece of the property. There's a GeekedOnGolf article where Hanse is talking about the renovation and says what 3 of those 4 holes were too: GeekedOnGolf: "With the bulk of the holes to be restored/renovated being Macdonald & Raynor, a more cohesive course could be made by taking the Tillinghast holes and replacing them with holes like ‘Road’, ‘Knoll’ and ‘Double Plateau’, some of which had been lost when the club sold land to the North side of the property in the late 1920s.”
I'm guessing 15 is the Double Plat with the principal's nose bunkering, 16 would be the Road judging by the tee shot, hard to tell whether 14 or 17 is the knoll looking at the green drawings below. That would also bring the biarritz back into the routing at #2 overlooking the Hudson just like the Short does today. EDIT: Actually that road in MacDonald's drawing is still there today, so the routing would be even more compact than how I drew it above.

To be honest, 1 & 18 are two of the worst holes on the property, and now I can see why I think that. I did like the road 8th, the par 3 10th and the par 5 12th on the current course, but I would like to see how the old routing played to know whether it's more enjoyable! Great idea to bring that into the game though
