After playing some rather fantastical courses the last few weeks, we are coming back down to earth with this stunning and quite realistic Donald Ross Style Course named after the Eastern most tip of Long Island in New York. "Montauk Field Club" by TannerBronson combines some of the best elements of different Ross courses around the country and is also quite stunning to boot offering a real challenge to those seeking it. Seriously, for those interested in Golf Course Architecture, Donald Ross is a name everyone should familiarize themselves with (google it, I promise you'll recognize "some" of his courses) The course itself is a long one, featuring multiple par 4s over 500 yards where missing the fairway will cost you dearly. The greens themselves are just as punishing featuring many tucked pins that shouldnt be directly challenged. Being above the hole here can also mean certain death. Pins 1 and 4 are especially challenging featuring tiny postage stamp landing zones that require you to hit exacting shots in tough wind conditions lest you roll right off the green. Once again this course should help prepare you for the distances and greens you should expect in the American Open Major! Your scheduler has only managed a -12 at the turn here so show me what you got!

I went -3 in R1 with a quad bogey on the 6th hole and then -8 in R2. Basically I think I am safe from demo marks, but the cut is suspect. Back to normal!

Still here... πππ
Round 1: -10 Round 2: -8
Was a little thrown by the lack of wind in the second round... π
Should be enough to make the cut again.
Good luck all, Frans

From CC-C to Platinium, taking a W in Kinetic and Elite while climbing up. I overachieved. Now I know I won't win a Platinium tourny, I don't even ask to make the cut every weeks. I just want to play my game and can't seem to be able here. And I really want that W in the Beer League. Never won anything on Pro swing. That's why I'm thinking about going there to finish the season...

Another good design up to the pin positions. Felt like there was a serious lack of reward for good approaches on this course with so many pins on side slopes.
Case in point in R3 hit a 4i to 11β just above the hole on 10. Ball doesnβt feed back down to the hole but is a crazy fast slider. Putt just slides by and then continued 70β off the green...brutal considering itβs just about impossible to leave it below the hole with the slopes.
Lost count of how many times I lipped out or got rejected by a pin with chips.
-39. On to next week.

Hole 6 leaves a lot to be desired.
1st round - don't have the right club to go at the pin, so I play to the "flat" portion beneath the hole. Nope.
2nd round - in between clubs again. Thought the wind might carry the 4 hybrid onto the green. Nope. The rest is red bead silliness.

-17 at the cut. Mentally shipped it in after hole 5 or 6 in R3. I stink.

I think I might be done with this game. They have just changed it too much. I was never really a red faster. In fact, after they nerfed it, I started making cuts in platinum. But the swing is just too volatile. There were always "out of blue" red slows, but they knocked you off course 20 yards or so, so we just dealt with it. Now, those swings, which feel perfect, are round killers. Some times you swing and you just know its fast or slow and you except that. But when it feels perfect, how much could it be off? Greys maybe, but a perfect feeling swing that is in the red? These are the swings that keep me from having fun with this game lately. Now combine that with splash and flop shots. I had a green side bunker last week that it took 3 shots to get out of. Other short shots coming up 20 yds short and ending up at your feet. It's infuriating. We'll see if I feel like the grind next week or not. But as I opened this comment with, "I might be done". I'm looking forward to see what EA is coming out with. Except for TW11 and the Rory disaster, I really liked their golf games.

Felt really good with the swing in both rounds, mostly, seem to have found a decent groove (at times) after approximately 502420495802498 calibrations. Round 1 was about as good as I've played in a while, but round2 was a big let down, mostly due to the challenge of the setup that I just couldn't navigate on several occasions. I can play par golf with the best of them, but that doesn't get the job done up here - never has, never will, nor should it I suppose, just the nature of the beast.
Appreciated the move back to a more realistic course layout. Found round 2 on 187's a bit tough to swallow, but that's PGA/plat, I suppose - there were some/several/etc pins or hole strat/setups that I wasn't a huge fan of, but that's just a weekly given most of the time, and it's obviously a well done course overall. Despite some anxt with a few holes (pins, more accurately), I did enjoy my usual 2 rounds more than I have in previous weeks due to the more realistic course design - and again, not saying previous weeks courses were bad at all (they were very well done courses fwiw), just that it's nice to play one that feels more golf course and less video game...though I understand this is a video game...a point which didn't really seem to go over super well last week, but isn't intended to convey any ill will.
Anyhow, GL all, see you for my 2rds again next week (unless -13 somehow makes it).

Well said Mr Smooth I agree wholeheartedly about the course.
I found some tempo at last for both rds, but I doubt enough to make the cut -11 after two. But much improved feel for my swing. Still to many fast shanks leaving me to far on a lot of holes to chase a bird. But managed to scramble a lot of pars which kept me honest.
Progress.
My aim when I started this season in Cc F I think it was. Was to make Kinetic. Once I jumped ahead through a promo event. I set myself a new target off Top π―. Thatβs the aim.
Good luck
