Barcelona - East Fife
Barca open the Championship Division season welcoming in East Fife. Practice for the match featured a lot of fast play so Koeman decided to recalibrate before taking the pitch. This would prove costly as Barcelona were abysmal to start the game. Play was all over the place and they couldn’t even manage a shot on goal in the opening 22 minutes. Koeman asked the players why they felt they needed 2 water breaks when they were just standing around watching the Fifers play football? Another recalibration was in order and Koeman sent the players out to finish the half. Play was much improved although scoring was limited. The Blaugrana had a goal in their sights as the first half rolled into stoppage time but two defensive blunders led to East Fife escaping the first half with a 1-0 advantage. Time will tell what the second half will bring
R1: +6; R2: -1

Second Half
Seeing as the mediocre finish to the first half left the East Fife coaching staff looking uneasily over their shoulders (cut watch again) they decided to get out early and try to take the game to their more prestigious hosts. Things were a bit more promising as the half unfolded. Chances were created and a few of them taken. The problem for the Fifer's is that they worry about the 'leccy getting cut off rather than which Ferrari to take to training or can I get four hundred grand a week.
They can take a bit of credit from Round 3 65 (-7) and Round 4 67 (-5). It might not be enough but they gave it a go and another week without going over par.

Just out of curiosity, who do I need to talk to to get a forum badge for Season 3? I see a couple of the guys have badges from previous seasons so I definitely want to display one now that I'm involved. Thanks!

First half done in my Premier League debut. A bit of a story of what could have been. Played really nicely in the first round but a bad back pass in the 20th minute followed by missing an open goal in the 22nd took a bit of gloss off the performance. The boys then got it back together and put themselves in a nice position with ten minutes to go in the half but then they just switched off. A really poor end to what was looking like being a good night.
66 and 70
First round should have been -8, second round I was -4 thru 6 and then lost my tempo. Disappointing, but I was enjoying it up to then.

Herne Bay came out for second half and were going nowhere fast and didn't give 100% commitment against Leeds. They more or less gave up all the hard work they had towards the end of the first half with a +7 for Rd three. It's a funny old game? Not

Orlando v Man U Man U -E On a windy dry surface the Red Devil’s had to acclimatise pretty quickly it was a slow but steady start and both teams had chances to put the ball in the net but it’s Man U who sneak ahead in this one 0-1 after 20.

Welcome Sports Fans to another exciting encounter between Liverpool and West H...oops, this is embarassing. It appears that the Hammers won't be playing tonight, apparently they had something better to do... (Ahem) Let's try again Welcome Sports Fans (again) With the absence of WH, Liverpool needed somebody to play. It just so happened that Juve were in town to see a local play. We now have a game on our hands Liverpool came out playing with intent. A few sloppy passes held the door open for the visitors, it's nice to be polite. (-7). Later in the half, the Reds had a few more chances. Not knowing how their opponents would react created a little confusion. (-8) Over to you FutureBuckeye11

Pixel Golf Football S3 - Championship division, week 1: Hyvinkään Palloseura @ Juventus Tranmere Rovers, first half
Previously: harsh playoff loss, followed up by a thumping in the PPPGP whatever Cup, not rated PG-13. So... our tune ups to the new season went well!
Pre-season news: our farmers have been trying to learn football, since they're on the fields all day and can't practice. They've also been glued to the TVs and screens whenever they can so all they've seen being played is ice hockey, the much more popular sport available to Finns everywhere. (especially around this time of year, World Championships and all)
So what do? We have no money, no talent, no nothing. Well, we go out there, kick the ball, and hope for the best! No pressure, no worries. Be happy.
In other news, sponsorships! Yes, we have some local boys stepping up to support the club in their endeavors this season, whether that's at the top of the table (which, nope) or at the bottom (more likely). So, a signing has been announced: we just had to go with these guys since no one else offered, so we're now getting meager funds from the Farmer's Union of Central Kemi, guys from up north who somehow have learned of our existence! Welcome aboard!
Media prediction for the season: "Relegation to Panorama Regional Conference should be certain but since this league only has two tiers, then last place is the likely option." - some guy from some football magazine who doesn't even know what he's writing about
Anyway, onto the matchup in Turin! *checks notes* Wait... what do you mean we're not supposed to play in Italy? Aren't we supposed to play Juventus to start the season? ... Wait, they got promoted to make up even numbers? Well, who the hell are we playing then? ... Oh, Tranmere! Okay, okay. How much time do we have left to travel? ... The kickoff is WHEN?
So, after we've just barely made the trip in time for the kickoff since everything's coming up Milhouse to us at the club currently, we're taking on Tranmere Rovers to open the season. The guys were understandably pissed off. They were expecting a grand old time in Italy, only to then change directions in almost no time. We were already sending our under 12s junior team to play instead but the lads made it with less than an hour to spare. And they showed they were angry about it. Opportunities a plenty but with blind rage, comes the lack of polished finish. However, not the worst showing to start the season. (Round 1: -4)
Then, the adrenaline started wearing off and the guys started making mistakes. They turned it around by some before the end of the half but a very dark moment at about 25 minutes in that went on for a few minutes could be a very costly thing indeed, despite a wonder strike at some point (eagle from a bunker splash on 12). Coach Imot, who was signed to a new contract despite the murmurs at the end of last season was seen biting into his hand and heard claiming "damn bogeys... missed the cut..." which I don't think anything or anyone at the field can translate. (Round 2: +3)
Not the worst way of things to go so far this game day, but leaves more to be desired in the second half. Signs of improvement are thankfully slowly in the air so let's see how it comes around. Also, looking at the scoresheet there's probably reason to adjust the scoring handicap in our match for the Tranmere side since I don't think they're supposed to play with no handicap.
