Golftek WIP - Ronin National Golf Club

Welcome to the thread for Ronin National Golf Club, better known as RNG(C). I am using a random number generator to determine pretty much every aspect of the course, including the total length, number of bunkers, theme, amount of water hazards, the 4 special characteristics, etc. I couldn't make decisions so I had them made for me. Small preview of what is to come:

Just to prove that I'm not entirely lazy and procrastinating, hole 1 (save for planting) and checkmark 1 out of the way. Much more difficult than it looks. Also this theme has like 6 trees and I'm going to hold myself to the constraints of the theme chosen, so difficulty is going to be figuring out how to not be so monotone.

Guess it's been a month since the last update and I'm only surfacing hole 6. Time to pick up the pace I guess.

Saw some people were publishing, so I decided to start on the back nine. Also changed the textures to give it a more lush look.

I ended up needing 8 of special challenges thanks to the RNG machine. Since I'm currently stalled out of hole ideas at 14, I went back and updated the green complex on 9 to make it into a 3 shot par 5. Easily my favorite hole so far.

I make better clubhouse environments than golf holes, which is sad and doesn't bode well for me. Time to build the last 4 holes and just see what comes out, then on to final planting.

On the contrary, this bodes very well. That is one damn fine clubhouse and some nice looking golf holes. Looking forward to seeing the completed course!

Latest update: Grass. Grass everywhere. 5 hours of grass and I'm only 4 holes in. Kill me now.

I can't figure out what to do for the last two holes, so I'm wasting time on the surrounding environment instead of stuff that actually matters. Going to be another grind to the finish and definitely not going to look how I really want.

Have you figured out what you're doing for your last two holes?  Have you completed your highlighted items?

Par 3, 4 or 5's left?

Unfortunately had a sudden death in the somewhat-distant family a couple days after my last post, so have been away and unable to work on my course. Let the half-assery begin so I can make the deadline!
