Well folks, we are a few short weeks now from the American Open, an intense major that should be the most demanding and prestigious of the year! Your fellow compatriots are competing over in the 3 qualifiers over the next 3 weeks for the few additional slots in this esteemed tourney that should prove to challenge even the best players. With that in mind this weeks course should help you prepare. Remanent 1824 by InYourRearview is a course set in an era of early America and has the grit and punch to prove it, expect long carries and punishing shots as not even the steamshovel was yet invented to flatten out these tough fairways and greens! My only advice for you folks is to look out for Hole 6! you may want to practice it before your rounds to make sure you have the right club for it!

Still here... đđđ Solid non-edgy single polling point opening round of -7 ruined by a stupid double bogey.
Love this course!
Good luck all, Frans

Still here... đđđ This becomes more and more ironic as you don't even have any demo marks left.

Another -7 after some heavy-handed putting ruined eagle chances towards the end.
-14 halfway; enough to make the cut?
Good luck all, Frans

Really enjoyed the setup and how the course played. Quirky layout but not in a bad way. Pretty unique. Still in a real rut with my game but felt like I played decent to get to -30 overall.

For me this was a course that was amazing on first playthrough.......but subsequent rounds ended up with it just feeling deliberately tricked up with the amount of hogsback fairways etc, where you hit the middle - and oh yeah, big sideways bounce into deep rough (and usually with a massive sidehill lie).....
Also - hint for everyone - when you are ill, and are shivering uncontrollably - playing tour rounds is not a clever idea - some of my lines (which are normally relatively straight and consistent) were somewhat towards 45 degrees off target (in both directions!)
-10 at the cut, -15 at the end.
Back to bed for me......

-7 at the cut, will miss the cut and not even worried about a demo mark. This course will destroyed many players. It look like it's my role here, to be between the marks and the cut. In boxing, they call this a gatekeeper. I'm in Platinium since February I think. I'm still too nervous to play good. Some crazy sh%$ miss shots only happen here, and it's not a coincidence. I even think differently... take a look at this. Can someone try to even fooking explain what I was trying to do here!? I don't even know myself ffs!
Now I played a round earlier on next week course. Shot an easy -9, I'm loving the course. I better shot good next week. I'm mad now. If I choke again, I'll be thinking about dropping my card and try to get a win in the Beer League before season ends. Another kind of challenge would be good. It wouldnât be easy, these guys are hammering it every weeks too.

-46 (-12, -12, -13, -9)
Happy with that effort. Last round was tough! Parred 3 of the 4 par 5s, all into the teeth, and lipped out on the last.
Think -50 will be the number, and Iâll be left to regret some things...was -11 thru 11 in R1 and finished at -12...

Ok all? After last weeks letter of resignation was thrown back at me, with 2 kisses, I played this event with the full intention of competing. Rd1 i finished -1 and then Rd2 happened bogey's, Doubles, took an 8 on one hole, so i made a decision on H17 of rd 2, to take a shot limit on 17 & 18 so it adds 2 more kisses to my 3 i already have, thus demoting me from this tour. Judge me wrongly or rightly, but I don't belong here and Im potentially holding a spot of someone who could compete here. So good luck all, play well, maybe 1 day I shall see you all again. PS, no disrespect was intended (with my last 2 holes decision) towards Admin or Players upon this tour, my apologies if this is how you read it.

Never would I play a course like this in real life and neither would I want to. Played crap. Gave up. Missed cut. Sooner we establish an RCR tour the better. Honestly think if I had played a practice round on this course I wouldnât have bothered this week. Gonna start doing just that. Donât often rant on here but scunnered with same old same old.

I made a 9 after two in the water on the 4th. Try not to laugh too hard at my 82 (+10) on the scoreboard this week. I'm sure lots of people enjoyed this course, but this was one of the least fun experiences I've had on the game thus far. Not sure if it was the course or the quintuple-bogey that ruined the fun...

Fwiw I would definitely enjoy a course that falls more closely to the âI could see this being an irl courseâ category instead of the heavy weighting to super arcadey courses weâve had lately. Doesnât mean any of those are bad, just waiting for the week when it feels like Iâm playing irl golf in a video game and not just player pure video game golf in an arcade, if that makes sense.
Doesnât mean it has to be either way, just an opinion - and one that likely wonât be relevant in a few weeks when Iâm out of here for a lower tier, so grain of salt and all...
