Hmmm where to start. First of all, I really enjoyed the course. Challenging, lots of calculations to hit the right club, but most importantly there is the ability to get reward on the scorecard.
Started at +4 after three holes. Ended up with a first round of 73. 2nd round I missed an opportunity to shoot really low. Ended up posting a 65, but left 3 birdie putts short by less than a foot that were on line.
The greens aren't that difficult, but you get punished if you don't get on in regulation. After two rounds I'm at -2 which has me in 9th spot (CC-H). I should be eyeing off a top 10 finish here.

-6 looks like making the cut in CCA, which is currently a shot or two more than that. It's a more realistic score but pretty unexpected given the cuts have been around the -12 mark, give or take, recently. I wonder how many of the scores have been affected by struggling in greenside bunkers.

Bloody awful -1 third round. Wasn't going too badly to begin the round but then the stupid red slows decided to rear their ugly heads again and ruin another round. What's even more frustrating is shooting -9 in the first round of the promotion event without any real tempo issues. It doesn't happen very often, maybe two or three times since getting the game, but occasionally a course pops up that I just can't nail my tempo at all on.

The Pitch shot should be removed. CC-B This game continues to piss me off to no end because of random stuff where it is almost impossible for me to go bogey free in any given round. Had a great second round with -5 under until the 18th hole. I use a 5 wood so that I purposely don't have to use that unforgiving Pitch shot and I want a 100-110 shot left. Sure enough my ball goes well beyond 225 yards to overt 250 yards, I have no idea why but now I'm left with a Pitch shot about 70 yards. I choose the longer club that is suppoed to be close to 80 yards at 100% so that my shot is not going to fall short in the water. Hit the ball and it goes less than 50 yards right into the water, like what the hell? I managed to save bogey but again I cannot go one round without a bogey because the game just wants to throw random crap like this just because.
Now I'm sitting at -3 overall with the cut line at -3 and we all know the cut line almost always changes and never for the better, so I expect in the next day or two for that cut line to be -4.
End of rant.

Your notes are entertaining and I was looking at them today while playing. I'd tried to take notes for my first 2 rounds but it's hard to do, and I can't remember when it's over so this is my only time doing this. In the first round, I birdied the opener routinely though I landed in the center bunker, bogey on 2 after I pulled it and it almost went off the cliff into water left. 3rd- putted a 20 footer for birdie. 5th- bogey on a lipped out 5 foot I pushed. 6th the par 4, I knocked in a 13 footer for birdie. On the tough 9th 500-yd par 4 I hit 2 red fasts and left myself- between clubs for a splash so I put low loft on and tapped in for par. Birdied 10 from a 47 yard pitch 25 feet uphill after a troubled 2nd shot. On 11, hit the fairway and a short wedge to 3 feet for another birdie. 14 I played well, at 250, this par-3 is rough so I did a low lofted hybrid with top spin and it hit the fairway, bounced right towards the bunker on the fringe and then reached the edge of the green and rode downhill to 13 feet. Sunk the easy putt. On 18, hit a slow but aimed left so it didn’t get wet. Had 79 yards to go and a wedge and pulled it left but luckily hit a 20-footer for birdie to close out with a 64 (-6) on 8 birdies, 2 bogeys. 2nd round I birdied then a followup bogey on 2 again. I second guessing clubbing down 2 with a tailwind and hit a red slow. Then birdied 3, the short par-4 with the heavily tilted fairway. 3 wood and iron both times. Tried to set up a full wedge with a hybrid tee shot on the drivable 4th but had 64 yards left. I put full high loft and back spin with a 90% lob wedge and it spun off the backboard for a 5-foot birdie putt I made sure to capitalize on. 7, the long par-5 was playing short and I mistimed the approach so it landed in that pit area on the right – couldn’t get out on the first try but luckily my pitch uphill 30 feet got to 7 feet away and I holed it for par- totally lucky to get away with it. On 8 knocked in a double breaker 18 foot putt for birdie. I usually suck at short severe breaking putts but on 11, I made a 9 footer aiming 3 cups left to make up for a par on the 10th hole par-5. Very quiet with no par-5’s left but birdied the short par-4 16th with hybrid and a wedge to 6 feet. 18 was strange because after a 3-wood tee into the fairway I only had 58 yards left which is the distance of my lowest pitch. I red fasted it over the water but I didn’t get penalized maybe cause I just barely red fasted it so it got over the water and left me a 18 foot perfectly straight for a final birdie. I finished with another 64 (-6) with 7 birdies and a bogey on 2. I feel like I got too lucky twice in a round so now it will even out later and I’ll get screwed by something – I’m not this lucky! LOL Also, last week I started hot at Steamshovel Banks with a 62 and 60 and then couldn’t hold onto the hotness and dropped 40 spots by the time the tourney was over. I don’t think I can pull off scores like these for all rounds on such a tough course. So stay away from me, I’m about to have some bad luck and it may rub off. LOL Hopefully everyone knows about the Promotion Event #5 this week so if it doesn't work out on this course, that course has a handicap of around 70 so it's a lot easier.

End of rant. Had the almost the same exact thing happen to me in rd 2. Except I put 3 in the water...red slowed the pitch and took a 10. Talk about a round killer

Half dozen fast downswings on practice swings on the first tee, first tee shot slow right into the lake. Yeah, this is gonna go well.

Front 9: 2 birdies, 4 bogeys, 3 double bogeys. I won a tournament two weeks ago!

-3 again for the last round to just crawl into double figures under par at -10 for the week. Dunno what it was about this course but my tempo was all over the place for all four rounds. I'm hoping it doesn't continue into the coming weeks because it's not very enjoyable being at a complete loss as to what to do with the controller stick to actually hit a consistent tempo. I had a spate of grey slows on the back 9 and when I tried to speed up a bit I just got red fasts.
Overall I didn't have any issues with the course itself except for on the greens if looking back towards the sun, the moving beads were very difficult to pick up against the bright colour of the greens themselves. They would have been better if they were black.

Bogey free and at -6 for the round heading to the 16th. Ended up bogeying the 16th and 18th to finish with a 66. The 18th I was more upset with as I hit a P-P drive, and my second shot was a 50 yard pitch which I butchered (red fast). I then chipped and 2-putted for the bogey R4 - Struggled with tempo which wasn't an issue in R3, so can't really complain with a final round 69. No momentum and not too many birdie opportunities, just scrambled away. Sitting in T-13 through 3 rounds (CC-H). Final round 69 won't shoot me up the leaderboard but might be enough to hold onto a top 20 finish. All demotion marks all gone, with an outside chance of finishing this week with a promo mark !

Ended my rounds at +13, just could not get a tempo going no matter what I tried. I did mostly ok on full swing shots and off the tee, but any pitch or splash shots would just kill any good thing I had going. I'm all for the changes that were made, but they seem to need some more tweaks still. Still made the cut in CC-I though so in my 3rd TGC tournament I'm still doing well.

Went and messed up my demotion to CC-D by making the cut. smh. Now I have to play the last two rds to avoid TGCTours detention. And on top of that, apparently I made the TST cut too. So now I have to play two more rds there too! That's four extra rds I normally don't have to play. damn.

LOL Hopefully everyone knows about the Promotion Event #5 this week so if it doesn't work out on this course, that course has a handicap of around 70 so it's a lot easier. Well, the last 2 rounds, I tried to drive 4 and had some success. After going -3 in R2, I was cruising until finishing R3 bogey/triple... with the tailwind I pulled a 3W and chunked it short. I picked R4 this morning and the tempo was all over the place. The game froze when I was on the the 17th tee box and I had a full Xbox reboot. When I got back in... tempo was on point. Laced a hybrid to 2 feet for bird, followed that by a perfect 310 drive on 18, pitch to 3 feet, where I promptly missed the tap in by 8 feet. No joke, this course was hard and you couldn't scramble well. Most of my misses left 30-50 yard pitches as opposed to 10-15 yard chips. I had a couple slows off the tee that went 275, but still left a 250 yard approach. Tempo in the bunker is a must... you can luck out with an 11 oclock fast or 1 oclock slow, but anything beyond that will flub 5 feet. My lesson learned is gotta get the practice round in before starting to make sure that tempo is playable. If not, shut it down/reboot and try again. Controller/Xbox seem to have a finicky relationship. Now time to go real golf.
