Tarakoi is modeled off of the real life course "Tara Iti" in New Zealand and is a fairly unique track design by a member of the Barbarian Design Syndicate praetorghostx ! There are a lot of tricky cliffs and bunkers on this course that become progressively more in play at higher winds. This should be a slightly harder test than last week as we keep ramping up towards the next two big majors with the plat championship being next week! Round 1 might be a nice introduction to the course but the winds really pick up into the weekend!

Putted like an absolute dog in the last round, just nothing wanted to drop.
It’s interesting to play a course that gets progressively easier instead of progressively more difficult. Both short par 4s are excellent challenges!

Still here.... Managed to throw away any chance of making the cut in round 1 by having two four-putts and throwing away 6 shots that way... -6 Played okayish in round 2 with -9 but -15 will be way short of the cut and probably some demo marks coming my way... Best wishes and good luck all, Frans

Thought I had a pretty steady tempo based on play during the previous week. Played my tour rounds (R1 & R2) and could probably count on one hand the number of perfects I managed. Fasts & Slows all the way. Missed cut. Oh well, will try again next week.

Oh man... was FINALLY playing well before the cut and was -9 through 13 holes. A bogey on 14 shook me, and then I finished with double bogey, bogey, on 17/18 to finish R1 -7! Leaves a sore taste in my mouth knowing I could've been -11 without all that trouble I got myself into, but what can you do. -7 for R1 isn't terrible. Hopefully can put together a solid R2 later in the week to at least challenge the cut line. fransslabak I think demo marks at -15 would be very harsh... I think you're good there.

Change of tact this week, after collecting 2 kisses last week. Spotify on, and a turn-based ghost to play alongside (thanks fransslabak ) to slow me down and concerntrate. It seemed to work, putting is my major flaw (with grids on anyway seem to have more confidence playing tst) Doyley turn them grids off here I know before anyone say's, I can turn them off myself, but why would I? When everybody else has them on? I digress, -10 bogey free Rd1, one blemish in Rd 2 for a -8, (-18 thru 36 H's) Absolutely chuffed to be honest, will it make the cut? I'll have to wait and see. Good luck all, play well

Man, what a great course and also a fantastic setup. I continue to struggle on the greens and may be missing the cut for first time in a while, as I finished at -18 thru 2. Some really good scores out there for what I thought was a pretty difficult setup. Need to step my game up and get out of this funk.

Played R3 and had exact same issues despite hitting a few good ones on the range before I started. Came out after R3 and recalibrated, wow what a difference in my play in R4. Shot a -10 in that round which counts for naff all but hopefully found something for next week. Question now is whether i’m best to calibrate every time I load up?

Didn't like the course (but that's based on the style rather than anything specifically bad about it)
Actually that's not quite true - having an utterly stupid OOB 2 yards off the 3rd fairway near the green in a perfectly playable position (After my 2nd shot), and yet later in the tournament, I hit my drive on that hole about 60 yards further down the mountain - and yet it's perfectly ok.......A bit of logic in the positioning of the OB would have been good......
As for the golf - meh - think I was -14 at the cut and maybe -27 to finish (not that I make it to R3/4)

It's hard to compete when everyone plays on a 18 holes course and you only get to have a 12 holes course! 🙃 Thru 4 rounds, I think I'm -1 on the first 6 holes of the course! And correct me if I'm wrong, but excpet that very long Par 4 on #2, we're not talking about the first 6 holes of East Lake here!
So -8, -5, -1 and -6 for a -20 total. I'm not affraid to come here and tell I played bad. Not here. One of the most unlucky tournament I have ever played. Approach shots being 1 feet away of a probable tap-in that change into a splash shot. Chips or putts being 1% away of going in. It happens every rounds, but it almost happened every holes here. I'll make the cut next week If I play as good as today.
Very nice course btw. Loved the 2 drivable Par 4 on this one!

@!$# this update, It's a joke. I get that the fast has been taken away and thats good, but I never had so many issues before it. Getting random very slows which make no sense. Perfects with a straight line going miles left. And every single putt going over the edge of the hole. b2b double demo marks and out of plat after never having an issue prior to the update.

Had about 6 lipouts from chips and putts. Brutal.
But I'm -22 through 2. I'm so freaking happy! The fact that I got a few less breaks than I wanted and still shot that well feels really good. Next time that happens, a few might go in and I might be looking at charging up the leaderboard.
Now let's pray I avoid the dreaded round 3 blow up on Saturday.

Hello. I really have to consider practicing very high winds a little more. After a good first round, those second round conditions brought me down to earth, or rather: missed cut territory, again. A nice red slow into the water for a double didn't help either. In general, I have a hard time getting perfects on pitches and flops since the update. I came to the point that I even recalibrated last week, which I really don't do often (3rd time overall I think). It'll certainly get better going forward, but since the perfect window has moved a little, it will take some time to get used to it. Cheers and good luck all!

Genuinely awful golf from me the past couple of weeks. Seem to play OK in non-TGCT settings where there is usually less wind and just basically easier courses/conditions, but I have zero confidence in tempo. So I went in and recalibrated with a faster swing after round 2, and early testing seems to be positive, feels like it's made a big difference - but time will tell.
GL all, enjoy the weekend rounds.
