Very forgiving clubs are best played wired. Why? It bypasses 1000hz (wireless) which has more input points. In other words, wired utilizes 250hz to increase the effects of rounding thereby dramatically increasing the total number of perfects. This only produces 2 input points for Perfect (L/R edges) on very forgiving clubs and no points of Perfect for 295D. If two players had identical skill, the player who calibrated with only 2 input points would hit many, Many more perfects (rounding is powerful), and thus score much better. Less forgiving clubs need more input points to strike within the white tempo box, therefore they should be played wireless. Imo, people really need to hit at least 70% perfects to use the less forgiving clubs. This is some powerful stuff! I wonder if this carries over to Xbox at all for wired vs. wireless.

fransslabak Nah! Lot's of ways to play! I play bluetooth with Purple Bridgestones across the board.

Nice to be back (full time, kinda). I guess I will finish my last two rounds this week now that I have a little motivation to play. -16 at the cut. Quite a bit of rust after only playing 6 rounds in the past month, so I will take it. I feel like I left a heap of shots out there though. Hopefully, I can clean that up in r3 and r4. Nice playing everyone.

It's something to consider for sure! I have some of the most forgiving wedges (silver hogan's), but I'm on some yellow irons (142-188 distance 9I-4I), and I'm still using a 295 driver. So there is room to adjust... Thing is though, it doesn't feel like adding any more forgiveness on these really allows for much more perfects on my end. It seems like no matter what I try, I can only hit one spot on the tempo meter that is within the perfect window on pretty much any of the clubs on Master. The "good" spots I can hit are essentially one spot in perfect, one spot just outside of grey fast (basically at the start of red fast), then a spot in grey slow. Think it's an XB issue, but I'll figure it out. Still early days playing for perfects. I agree, perfect is perfect. I don’t see much difference hitting perfects with forgiving clubs than gold or purple clubs. However, when you add loft and attack angle the purple clubs become harder to hit perfect. I’ve had to ditch the 295 driver as it’s actually impossible to hit perfect. I’m using the 286 driver, because of this I’ve gone to longer irons. This seems to be working out well for me. I’m scoring better since the nerf. Hitting more fairways That’s weird, I’ve tried a bunch of drivers to see what allows me to hit perfect wired....and I wasn’t finding any in the 280s. Closest points were still gray. Is this one of the clubhouse pass drivers? In societies I’ve been using the 295 wired, and just playing for the grays since the perfect doesn’t exist. It doesnt make sense for me to drop to the 280s if I still don’t have any perfect points. I feel like it’s doable if tempo is running good and not acting up. Tried it with platinum rd 1 just now though and my normal swing was giving me red fast instead of the gray fast/slow. That was a nightmare feeling using that driver and also feeling like I had to push up softer. Ended up OB one hole cause I barely even went up lol.

You can’t miss it it’s yellow. I just hit 100% GIR on round 2 of Plat. I don’t think I ever hit 100% when red fasting.

Its still gray for me 🤔 Both left and right points are still a little outside the white, this includes swinging 100% not 101%. The next points that can be hit are red. I really don’t feel like recalibrating, cause even if I do I don’t understand how I could move the points closer together. Strange. After another test, it looks like the wired perfect limit for me is the 275 HBS classic. Anything above that can’t be done.

This should let you hit 101% perfect That does work as it shifts the points a little left, allowing for the one on the right to hit edge perfect, but I think I still only have 2 points total that aren’t red. edit- I found that if I bring in the intent more to about 8 yards in, I can get a point dead center and a gray point for fast and slow with up to the 288 SIM. This seems like the best option for staying wired for me, but it does include the drawback of needing to swing a little softer since moving in the intent effects tempo. It’ll just take some practice. Sorry, I should probably be posting this stuff in the driving range thread... not here.

I am just curious if my fellow plat guys think the scores are are clearly higher this week because of the red fast being taken out or this being a very difficult course? This might be a weird take but I played for the red fast most of the time because it was predictable, especially if there was trouble. However, with limited time going this route (for perfects) I actually think I am a better player going for perfects.
I see the talks about calibration, I do get perfects with the 295 Bridgestone, im wired, I have never calibrated once.

Thanks to Q and Mayday for the brilliant course and conditions this week. The update brought a little negativity going into the event, but apart from a few scores where some really struggled, the overall play was excellent as usual.
In terms of my game - I had a busy week in work and therefore only had a few days to adjust (being a red faster). I finished -10 after 2 rounds which has given me a lot of encouragement, and I hope to build on that in future events. Opinions on the update have been done to death, so in short, I'm happy with the adjustments and for me it's been a positive change.

Regardless of Swing changes, I felt this week played too harsh (we almost has single digit cuts, potential -40 or less winning score), you will see this very lightly reflect the conditions the next two weeks. Hardest week by scores since Week 19 (Winged Foot)! Consider this a test for potential Major conditions!
