Common sense has arrived. R.I.P. Red fast. I actually couldn't believe that some have said that they need to fix Red Slows. LOL. Go ahead and play for Red Slows, and see how far it gets ya! I am by no means the best, but I try to play perfects and those that were using 'Red Fasts' had an advantage over me. I suspect winning scores on Plat and Elite will only be in the -30's Now. I only play about 6 hrs a week now. When we were on TGC 2019 I was playing 40 hrs a week. I think I will be playing more with this new change.

The only reason there was an influx (not many, but certainly a few more) of Xbox players inching their way into the top 20 on Tours was due to the red fast. It was/is the only way MANY Xbox players can remotely compete. Welcome back, PS4/5 Tour. Two answers to that Jason. Firstly the PS4 players were also playing the red fast because perfect was harder to achieve. They are in a similar boat! Secondly I think you'll find the Series X has narrowed that gap significantly. Time will tell, obviously.

I've literally just fired up the game unaware of the changes. Hit 3 shots and I wondered what the hell was going on! 😆 ...so immediately came to the forum for a possible answer. Too early for me to comment on how I feel about it. But, being on XBSX, my first thought/concern is, will this widen the chasm b/w consoles further. My hope is that it will in fact make for a far more interesting and challenging (and hopefully fair) game. Xbox console has NEVER been able to compete with PS4, even with the red fast swing. Biggest problem is the near impossibility on the Xbox side to get consistently perfect tempo. I'm not saying 75%+ perfects (unheard of on Xbox console), I'm saying even 50% perfects. They may as well give up now. If I was still on the old XB playing at 30fps I'd probably just throw the game in the bin after this change. As it stands on XBSX and at 60fps things are more manageable. I just finished off a round there (7 or 8 holes) and went +1 for those holes (woulda been even but for a silly missed putt). Driver is manageable I find, but not easy (fine with me). I can't hit perfects but can hit very minor slows (little difference b/w the two anyway). Approach play on the other hand is damn tricky to get perfect. Early days but it seemed to me short game play isn't effected (or barely), ie chips/splashes etc. I could be wrong about that. Pitches are most certainly effected. I'm intrigued to see how scoring changes in the foreseeable for everyone. I know mine will plummet. Which is fine with me as long as everyone is in the same boat. But we know they are not don't we? So, we'll see.......

I don't see why red fasts and red slows aren't treated the same. You can hit a very red slow drive consistently to a total distance of 310 yards (depending on wind, of course) with the longest driver in the game. It's basically the same as very red fasts, just with a loss of maybe 25 yards. But it's a swing that's repeatable, and it completely removes that 220-yard duck hook from the game, since you won't ever get a very fast when trying for a very slow.

It’s everyone else that will drop for a bit before adjustments, and even after that scores will probably suffer for elite and under. Just follow ryanmcconnell's lead... #NTT

This is fantastic. As someone who had moved to fasts off the tee to be able to keep up with the ever-dropping Plat scores, happy to go back to perfects and make this a harder game as it was intended to be originally.

I'm not one that relies on red fast, but its my most common tempo. I'm happy it was changed, but was unaware until I logged into play next weeks course. Changes the game for sure! I'm onboard. Although, I was finally on the verge of being promoted a tier in CC haha.

I guess I will start playing the game again.. This is great news! How about we all just agree to play "perfect" and put in the effort now. Sadly, I feel a lot of people will just spend time searching for the next mechanic abuse instead of perfecting the tempo lol Will be good to see you back on the leaderboard Cody.

I’m sure a fair few of us were only playing fast off the tee (including Sloan) which is an easier adjustment imo. Def see scores coming down a bit though as fast allowed super aggression.

As someone who played fast everything, I think this is the right move in terms of gameplay, and I'm looking forward to learning to play the perfect game. Like xvshitan said, I think there will be a big impact on people like me, but I think after a bit of an adjustment period I'll be able to get my scores back to a respectable range, even if not as good as they were with the fast.

Do you see yourself going to a slightly more forgiving driver? It’s impossible for me to hit perfect with the 295 driver because of my calibration. The only way I can get perfect is to bring the intent back 4 yards. I’m made up with the update.
