I haven’t really used this method but have to admit i really like how smooth the shapes can be when implementing this way of doing them. Any tips on using them to create the fingers of the bunkers? I’ve tried and narrowed the width all the way down to 1.7 yards but not sure the distance between points I should be aiming to go.

It's pretty tricky depending how thin you want the protrusions to be. I find anything narrower than about 3M hard to sculpt.

b101 is using splined bunkers for his current NT course. His VODs might be helpful or maybe he could just clue you in here?

Yeah actually that’s why I started playing around with the idea today because of that video. Lol. Problem was it was a time lapse but I did try my best to rewind and see if I could see how he did it. I did a lot of trial and error and think the trick is to make a medium to larger sized bunker shape and not have too many spline points. So far think I might have it figured out. Thanks for the replies.

I’ve had decent results with leaving the width at 2.5 and putting the spline points very close together. It will take a bit of editing but looks excellent when you get it right. It might also help to use multiple splines to get the “lobes” looking right and it can be easier to sculpt multiple small bunkers put together rather than one large one.
