I am a big fan of never playing anything below masters. If people don't enjoy the sometimes crazy tempo roulette you get on masters then I have no issues with them switching to Pro. It's not for everyone. Some here have been playing together for years and this nerf has created an issue of almost hatred among some (a certain closed society). Play the way you want that makes the game fun for you. Don't worry what others think. Much worse issues to deal with in life. I still look forward to playing with buds on Friday nights whether they use Pro or Masters. Lets just get back to what this Brotherhood is all about. Fun!

Alan, Did you complain to Ken in the 50+ XB senior society about how much you dislike pro swing settings? Or ask him to gather data or put it to a vote? You seem very content there with pro swing, yes? Just wondering why that one is ok for you to play in and be happy but not others. Just an informal observation on my part. Koop, You say informal observation, but I think you meant uninformed observation. I've been playing in the 50+ Seniors Society for over 6 months. It is very well documented in my post that I play in a Pro society. You didn't "uncover" something. It was a Pro society before I made the decision to play in it, so that's what I signed up for. My expectations when I joined a Pro society is that the difficulty is set to Pro, so what exactly is it that I would have asked Ken to gather evidence for? Or what would we be voting on?
Not sure why you have a problem with my sharing with David I like how he has handled his decision process. Ok yes I am. Because another society I play in had a different decision process that I disagreed with entirely. That decision process was based on and let me quote, "Unfortunately For me and my friends that is not master as its just not fun anymore. Therefore we are going to pro"
We are not switching mid season. We are continuing with masters swing through the rest of the season. Maybe some have lost sight of that? You’ll be happy for the rest of the season, even if I am not happy. And I am ok with that. Hope you are. It will be pro NEXT season and now you are informed and know what you are signing up for. Expectation level will be set. Alan, my apologies for coming at you but It does seem clear by your comment who you are taking shots at. rhino4life Dave! Sorry to hijack your thread. My comments, if I make anymore on this subject will be in the Race to 2k thread.

“Play the way you want that makes the game fun for you.” This is what we all want! Thanks Todd!

Let me be clear....
Nobody is making my life difficult outside of the b%&ing and moaning about things being impossible, broken, not fun, ect. It's all well documented. The setup of two societies is not something that tons of extra work but rather necessary.
There are three categories I define personally who is still playing this game. It may not totally define you personally but there is some traits that are dead on and some overlap. No judgement or opinion. Masters guy who has a grasp on the current setup. Good rounds, Bad rounds, loves the challenge but consistently under par. Lets call this 10% of the community. Masters guy who struggles with the current setup. Has good shots, bad shots, and is generally teetering between that -2 to +6 each round. Lets say that is 60% of the community Masters guy who given this a ride and is now in @!$# this sh%$ mode. Game is broken. Calibrating doesn't work. May still being playing RF post nerfs. Basically wants to flip on the box, be competitive, and shoot -5 with minimal effort like they always have in the past. Lets call this 30%. Trying to appease this much disparity is a tall order.
The setup for two skill levels is not only for me from a review standpoint, its for EVERYONE and you will get out of this what you and your reasonings for playing it put into it. I will be perfectly transparent right here/now on where I stand right now and will use this trial to prove or disprove this position. I have zero evidence other than my own trials over the last 2 weeks. My stance is despite my own up and down play from hole to hole on masters, I don't think Pro is the answer to our prayers because of ease in some areas of the game being just too forgiving. So for the next five weeks I am going to focus on this aspect of the game personally and see where the slider resides on the "having fun" versus "competitive"/"fair challenge" comes in at? I also am looking forward to see what kind of results and opinions come in from others.

Dont for once think the rf or rs dissapear if you play pro....its easier but not a walk in the park if you dont lock in .... I enjoy master but there are some broken shots.... splash and flop i would never play a pitch from a bunker or over 80 yards that hardly works in real life and as said before thats my approach to the game ....of the record lets gratz my wife for making her 2nd hole in one yesterday it aint easy being a scratch player with ZERO hio married to a hcp 25 with FRKN 2... Congrats to her!!!!

So it does boil down to scoring - but I thought scoring doesn't matter..?? Confused.. Anyway I think what you're saying is the scoring does matter - that you and others would rather shoot a casual round where you score under par to some degree rather than grinding it out for MAYBE a score under par.. Either way - Those 5 people that are under on masters - will still be the same 5 people at the top of the LB on Pro, and the 'far more players' in the -16 to +142 range will still be in the same spot on the LB, just with a better score. So I say again - let's just all agree that the topic is at a point of 'beating a dead horse' and let's just get on with playing golf and stop beating each other up. There are clearly opinions on both sides - great - noted - now can we move on? Never ONCE did I say scoring didn't matter Jeff. As I've stated a million times, I don't want or need to shoot -8 to -12 per round. But, I'd like to shoot UNDER PAR most of the time. And no again. When a "best effort" two round final for me is +8 and only 5 players have shot under par and the leader is at -14, it's no fun. No fun at all. If you don't want to discuss it, then don't respond. Period. I choose to respond. No one tells me when to move on. Sorry Money - too many threads and too much to read. Probably wasn't you, but somewhere I read it wasn't about scoring. wasn't trying to tell you to move on either - I was merely pointing out that - in general - it seems we're all beating each other up for really no reason is all.. Anyway - again, sorry if I've offended you or anyone else. Just want to play golf however that ends up being. I'll keep my distance from the banter going forward and just play my rounds. Bird - out... Cheers !!

None by me. I have two. The first one I was lone playing and I scared an old couple minding their own business walking beside the course. I ran up to them screaming “Did you see that! I got a hole in one”.They had no interest and saw nothing, in fact they sped up, glancing nervously over their shoulders as I was left forlornly thinking no one will believe me. Coincidentally this was at the very same spot I almost killed Sky sports news’ Jeff Stelling who was obliviously jogging along the same spot and had to dive for cover as my 7 iron delivered a scud missile towards the back of his head. Good times.

Yeah the alby was a 260 yard 4 iron. 1 bounce and dunk. Still takes a lot of skill to get a 4 iron to go that far. Lucky to hit my driver on pavement and still go that far.
