Probably beating a dead horse here but it's a productive conversation and I welcome the opinions of anyone who has one. I think I have no choice but to get another controller. My tried and true from 2015 just doesn't work well anymore. Sometimes takes a dozen back and forth swings to register a downswing (many of you who have seen me play think it's practice swings but it isn't. The swing just doesn't register sometimes until I push down so hard I end up with a very fast or something at times, very frustrating!). The left and right bumpers function but are held on by scotch tape. Everything else works fine but the simple registering of the downswing. It was always my most successful controller (even tried a brand new one and it was actually far worse success wise).
So I welcome your thoughts: Wired or wireless? I don't need the "ultimate" Wolverine as I don't need all these bells and whistles and rainbow colors or whatever shiit is added onto it. I have an existing headset I'm NOT changing so I need the audio port to plug my headset into. I simply don't play enough golf or any other games to buy a wireless headset new too. Also, do you recommend swing calibration out of the box and then work from there? Why or why not?
But if the Wolverine passes API on tours that's huge. You all as Xboxers endorsing it and saying it has helped with tempo or shot disbursement or whatever it may be called is great to hear.
Appreciate the comments.

The standare Wolverine V2 (which is what I purchased on sale from Amazon for $70) has the headset jack like the XB controllers do, so your headset should work fine.. As for calibration, that will depend on you - I'd suggest taking it out for a spin first and see what you get. IF you're not satisfied, by all means go to the range and calibrate until you get something you like.

If Todd "Mr Reluctant to Change" Richardson endorses it, then it must be good. It wouldn't shock me at all if you get your first ace within a week. I am not sure I would of stuck with a controller being held together by bubble gum this long. If you buy a new pad it will certainly speed up the rounds so we all win.
Calibrate or not seems to be a personal thing. Try things without a calibration for a prolonged period of time and see what you get. I have not calibrated. I am perfectly happy with my results on the tempo and being that I have already reset to default twice....I am not going back through resetting fittings if something goes sideways. Initially out of the box its a very fast stick movement to get desirable results however like Benny mentioned (I think) that once the pad starts breaking in the down/back motion seems to be a little more accustomed to what most people are used to.
In terms of headsets....the ports wear out either on the headset itself or on the pad. Put it on your "to-do" list to grab some new headgear at some point, maybe with a wireless and wired option.

Really though, order it today from Amazon, it should arrive Friday. Hit 3 balls on range. Then just take 10 normal swings on calibration and you should have a good feel. Mostly barely fasts and slows. Which go straight. Just get it you cheap bastard!

You've seen and heard about the results so I'll leave that bit. It's a different game. However I have had problems with the headset as people will have heard (or not) already, and I can't figure out why. The controller has a port for a 3.5mm jack. My Turtle Beach headset plugs straight in but for some reason my voice keeps fading out and then cuts out completely and have to keep unplugging and plugging back in the jack. Sound coming in is always fine. I found a workaround last week where I was playing on the Wolverine and had one of my other stock controllers on with the headset plugged in to that. It worked fine but obviously not ideal! And just the standard basic controller is fine. Mine cost me £52 off Amazon which sounds like the same deal you're getting over there. Dave is the only one I know who hasn't calibrated. Straight out the box everything was slow for me. Rather than change my swing I changed the calibration.

Jamie, winning captain, BoB mainstay etc etc. Respect where it's due. But that's a lot of words to say you're really switching controllers to putt haha All joking aside my wee lad has been through many many third party controllers over the years, he's a wrecking ball, and they all have that issue with the headphone jack in my / his experience. Yours is a good workaround. The best solution is to grab a wireless headset long term I think.

Nicholas254 I made the mistake of using the app and playing around with sensitivity and all that. I promise you if you don't use the app at all (delete it) and just calibrate you will see better results. Also, I rarely get a perfect ever. I get mostly Grey slows or Grey fast But it does not change my path as much as my old controller did. I have had the app since the start. So you’re saying that I should delete the app and re calibrate again?

Yes Nicholas254 Don't use the app at all. I have found I get better results without it.

Just bought the wired Wolverine. Only because rhino4life said I'd probably get an ace in the first week. Giraffe72 Dave mentioned the echoing thing that was occurring. I have a perfectly fine Turtle Beach headset too. Really don't want to go wireless to be honest, if only because it's an additional cost for something I don't really feel I need. Maybe I won't echo. Will see how it plays out when I get my controller next Tuesday and enjoy next Friday night.

Yours is a good workaround. The best solution is to grab a wireless headset long term I think. I was having my car worked on yesterday and walked around corner to Target. I tried a set of wireless headphones by turtle beach. Sound quality blew me away. I have a cheap headset now, not for long.
