Controllers:
PS = 800mhz wireless, 250mhz wired.
XB = 125mhz, period.
PC (Sony) = Overclockable to be more responsive / repeatable than standard
PC (XB) = 125hz, period.
XB controllers are polling rate locked so when you have PS controller players overclocking the piss out of things for better response I don't want to hear a freaking thing about Rhino having a few new poling points.

I am in for next season, not sure if mr Longpole still would like to partner up or if he should return to his almighty Phoenix. If you want to pick your own partner you can if someone is willing to put up with you. You are not stuck with Longpole. Anyone like to partner up? I’ll give Horus and Longpole their team back. I know Liebs and I initially were a thought. |

I mean, I don't know what else to say. I've had my TGCTour rounds specifically API checked by the Admin. They said the data looks completely normal. There is no question of anything underhand going on here. PS players have had the advantage of all these extra polling points and consistent tempo since TGC2019, that's 5 years! Finally we've got a legit controller that does the same thing, or at least similar. I'm not looking back. This could be your realistic solution! Exactly, why should Xboxers NOT try a controller that makes the game play like/ similar to Playstation? ( only without the swing plane ) oh is this cross platform? |

I missed this convo and I don’t want to start anything so all I will say is I have seen some people getting API’d by TGC using this controller. I view it the same way as a Power A. Just my 2 cents. FWIW i use a stock series x/s controller how many people did we see from (redacted) discord (RIP) improve drastically upon their embrace of the razer? my impression on razer was/is bad (kinda the same as bees) but my knowledge on the matter is also limited. haven't found my stock microsoft controller (black) any more/less consistent than '21 or '19 or Rory McIlroy or Tiger Woods '07. feels like admitting defeat to me and i don't see a realistic solution on the horizon. i wouldn't feel right using one against y'all. and im not trying to passive aggressively call y'all cheaters by saying but that's how that'll come off. i don't usually comment on sh%$ like this but i spend a lot of time on this game and recognize a lot of ya. not trying to ruffle any feathers. look forward to competing against y'all. thanks. It is genuinely a legit pad otherwise people wouldn't be getting it bud. I've seen some of your scores and they're decent like a lot of our scores were using the stock Xbox or Elite pads. Now picture your rounds without the random very fasts, black fasts, or very slows and black slows that can kill a round, especially when you're actually playing well. What the extra polling points means are that once you've calibrated to your own personal preference of swing, what you swing is what you get. So if you're a consistent swinger you'll be hitting a lot of perfects with some slight slows and slight fasts. If you are a little less consistent you're still going to get the big greys and blacks that can hurt you but at least you'll deserve them because that's how you swung the stick. For £50 - £70 it's a no brainer. I assure you if you got one it will give you two or three shots a round. Unless you swing like sh%$ of course! Fair play to you and Subtle Bees if you're sticking to the stock controller, you're both still going to be really decent players regardless. You could both be slightly better IMO if you swapped over! 😉 |

The inconsistency with the stock controller is the problem.
I did the calibration reset a couple of weeks ago, shot -18,-12 in BOB, thought great, good tempo! Then came poor, inconsistent tempo back with a vengeance. I'm sure it is down to me, I find the stock controller far too touchy and temperamental. The slightest less than ideal tempo can be 10 yards from being a good shot.
The Wolverine is consistent, it is not a total panacea. Mistakes in tempo, anything less than ideal, still result in slows or fasts but they are scaled, its not all or nothing as it is with stock. This is what makes the controller so good.
It also has its own problem - swing plane, but this can be practiced! Its a great controller for Xbox and I urge anyone who is sick to death of the wayward stock controller to get one.

I've been waiting to give my thoughts on the Wolverine controller after I could play with it for a couple of weeks. My normal controller was the official Xbox Elite 2 Controller. The Wolverine should and probably will improve your scores if you struggle with tempo issues.
After recalibrating with the Wolverine, the tempo is so more consistent than the Elite. I can only think of one time where I hit a very slow and that's because my thumb slipped off the stick. It's almost impossible to hit a very fast, even trying to slam the stick up. The tempo feels like it should. There were plenty of times with the Elite where it felt like a great tempo but it would register as a VF or VS. Those days are GONE. The confidence to hit narrow fairways or island greens is so much higher with this controller.
As others have mentioned, the more difficult aspect with the Wolverine is the swing plane. It's more sensitive than the Elite to hit a straight line. When I push or pull a shot, I can feel that mistake, it's not random. Now that I have a good feel for the stick, my swings are back to being straight with anything else being my own fault.
Putting took some time to get use to the feel too. I always push or pull my putts anyway so never really noticed a difference from the Elite to the Wolverine.
If you struggle with consistent tempo, get the Wolverine controller. My scores have significantly increased and the game is actually more enjoyable for me now.
