BAND OF BROTHERS (Xbox Society)

History:

The groundwork to which this club comes from was started back in 2015 as the Champions United Country Club. This was founded by Chief Banks. If you do not know him you are missing out because he is kind of a big deal. Around the time the CUCC was getting started, I was still playing old Tiger Woods games. Eventually graduated to Rory (albeit very briefly). One day a stupid internet search led me to The Golf Club. Never heard of it but it had a course creator which peaked my interests. Got the game on the cheap at a local swap shop and hated it until I came across the Xbox Players Club and the TGCTours. I was instantly hooked. After some time spent in the XB Players Club, I found out that another golf club existed which just happened to be Champions United Country Club. These were somewhat like sister clubs that had some overlap in friends and competed against each other in events every so often. Eventually the Xbox Players Club kind of folded up and through some drunken discussions during some online Friday night golfing, I and several others finally joined forces with Mr. Banks. The rest as they say, is history.

As most of us know after this current season the CUCC will be retired. Retired, but not forgotten. From the foundation Chief provided we will carry on under a new name of Band of Brothers which seems to fit well given the significance. We have members from all over the world. Many of these original members are still friends to this day despite where they call home , playing not only whatever golf game is current, but many other games as well. And while some long time members guys leave for greener pastures for better scores on other platforms over the years, this group remains true to its Xbox roots, HB provided warts and all. You will be hard pressed to find a tighter knit group of guys out there that treats you like family than you will here.

RESETTING CALIBRATION

Society info:

• BAND OF BROTHERS – search with all caps and because the tools to create logos was designed by a 3yr old….its got what appears to the earth in the center of of a wobbly square with stars in it.

• Xbox Platform only / Competitive Style / Masters Clubs / Pro Clubs *post September patch*

• Society admission is set to private. Quality over Quantity here.

• Difficulty level will be set at 1.89 which is the same as what we currently have.

• Same common sense rules from TGCT apply here. One change….changing pitch, chip, flop on greens to 100ft.

• Three missed events and you will be removed from the season and points will be forfeited.  You can sign up to come back in future seasons.  If this society just didn't suit you and you do not want to play, let me know so I can remove you from the season scoring. 
If real life throws you a curveball and you have something come up like a family matter or a vacation which would prevent you from getting your rounds in please communicate and we can probably work something out.  If you extend me some common courtesy, I will do the same.  

• There will be three divisions for individual play.  There are six teams for team play.  Your scores for the weekly events count for both the individual play as well as your team score.  

o Alpha Flight (Best Players)

o Bravo Flight (Next Best Players)

o Charlie Flight (Everyone else)
 

Settings: The settings will mirror what is used on TGCT with a few additional opens

Swing difficulty - set to Pro for season 4.

Swing timing - On

Distance controls - both off

Putt Preview - 0

Course yardage - will change from on to book only

Pro Visions - all off

Scout Cam - will go from on to UI off

Lie grid - from on to open

Green Grid - from on to open

Pin preference - open

Aim Marker - will go from on to marker only *important - see below

Wind Speed - will be set to open

Distance Display - carry

*In order to see elevation go to your settings in game - display and Hud - distance info position - and set this to "in Hud". If you have this set to "off" or "marker only" you will not see elevation.

Seasons:

• 13 weeks in length with 9 regular season events (2 rounds) and 4 major events (4 rounds).

• Each event will have some kind of name affiliation with the military whether its historical, charitable, or fictional.  Dunno why....seems cool though.
• Events will be live for 7 days unless I somehow screw something up and hopefully the start and stop times end up being the same as what we have now.

• Promotional moves to different flights after the season are TBD.

Point System for regular season events:
Tiered point system. 

What happens if there is a tie? The points will be allocated evenly as whatever the average is for those positions. If two guys tied for second place….each person would get 340pts and the next person untied would get the 4th place 280pts. This will hold true for both regular season and Major events.

Majors Weeks – 3, 7, 12, and 13

Point System for Majors:

• Week 3 will be regular season points x 1.25

• Week 7 will be regular season points x 1.50

• Week 12 will be regular season points x 1.25

• Week 13 will be regular season points x 2.00

Point allocations for Aces, Albatrosses, or Ace-atrosses *be sure to make me aware of these*

• Ace – 25pts

• Albatross – 50pts

• Ace-atross – 100pts

Miscellaneous info for newbies:

Outside of society play there is also live 2 v 2 Alt+shot streams going on each Friday night using 3 courses in a round robin format. Stats are kept but this mostly for ball busting, beer drinking, and solving the world's problems kind of fun. We encourage the designers to join the streams when its possible so they can watch live as we play their courses. The fun begins at 6pmEST every Friday.

There are two Ryder Cup-style tournaments ran each year with a live draft. One is an actual Ryder Cup (USA v Europe) and the other is conducted in the same format however there is no affiliation with countries. Both last three weeks with 100% live / streamed match play. These are a lot of fun to participate in. If you would like to be considered to participate in one of these events, stay active and play your weekly rounds.

In this forum please list your name, gamertag, and country. Don’t be overly concerned with your time zone being a factor as we have people from all over the world up in here.
It certainly speeds this up being accepted if you know someone who is already in the CUCC, Swing and Miss, or Race to 2K societies, you play regularly on TGCTours, or have someone vouge for you.  If you happen to slip through but don't below chance are you will be found. 

Go the societies search and find BAND OF BROTHERS – it’s in all caps with a stupid earth figure in a wobbly square with some stars in it.  Best I could do with the tools I had.

Once accepted – be respectful to your brothers and start having some fun.
