Welcome to Kukimbia Kwa Fisi by reebdoog. This is another in a series of courses we are going to be playing from the World Cup of Design. This one stood out to me for its unique environment, but it doesn't cheapen or compromise any of the gameplay for looks. Should be a fun challenge because this course can be fierce if you find yourself in the wrong spots. Good luck everyone! From the designer: Welcome to Kukimbia Kwa Fisi which is Swahili for Hyena's Run. This is an exclusive club set in the Savannah grasslands of central Africa. Full of wildlife, grasses, stones and more wildlife we were able to cut out 18 interesting holes that should hold your attention throughout. There are eagles to be made and doubles aplenty. The land moves everywhere and we had to work around the stones that litter the only site we could obtain from the government...but it made for some very fun greens!

Excited to make it up to the Elite tour. -11 to start it off. Some really good tempo throughout, and could've had a couple more honestly.
This course is a lot of fun. Really makes you think off the tee and into the green more so than others.

Coming off a solid 16th place last week that could have been even better had I shot better in R4 (Which can be partially blamed on pushing through all 4 rounds in a sitting with other stuff that needed doing...) I figured I could do decently here. I did not expect to be seriously en fuego in the early rounds though. Played with Toddfather's ghost in R1, thinking that was a decent marker. I really hit the ball well on the front 9, giving myself a lot of good looks. Having played a practice round here, I felt like the back 9 would be tougher. However, after solid approaches for birds on 11 and 12, I made a 15y chip shot from long right that I probably had no business making. Super downhill to the cup, hit a perfect LW and it just kept rolling right in. Two holes later had my second career tournament ace and second tournament ace in two weeks with a shot that was just oh so slightly fast. Glad I didn't get the perfect I was trying for, lol!
Pretty stoked to currently be sitting first on the board. The 60 I shot in R2 with the much tougher wind conditions, should hold up well enough that I'm top 10 going into the weekend. Seems as though I might actually be on the way back up to Platinum sometime soon, assuming my current run of form holds. Going back to Plat will be a bit scary, but I do feel like in the past couple of months here in Elite, I've really expanded my knowledge of the way the game works and have added quite a few tools to my TGCT toolbox that hopefully will allow me to make cuts and contend on occasion in Plat when I get there.
Oh yeah, also really enjoyed this course more than I initially thought I would. I remember teeing it up on my practice round and thinking, 'Oh screw this' when I looked at contours for my approach. But the course can be had if you're precise with your shots.
Good luck everyone!

Practice rounds were very hit or miss for me and I don't think I've played a course where I've left more putts within 5 inches than this one. But opening round of -9 was my best score on this course by a few shots. I wasn't far off on my misses and had 2 or 3 chip ins from the fringe. Second round with higher winds was rough for me, just a fight the whole way through to hold on. I was OK off the tee but couldn't hit a green. Had myself to -3 through 12 and thought if I could get to 5 under I'd be really happy but just couldn't make anything happen and then 3 putted 16 for bogey.
I'm not SUPER unhappy with -11 through 2 as my goal since moving up to elite is to get to -12 in the opening rounds but if I miss another cut I'll be kicking myself after opening so well and not backing it up in round 2.

Came out of the blocks quickish on this one with a -10 in R1 (easiest round by far). R2 was so so. A -5 was good enough to easily make the cut, but I'd have liked a couple more birdies. R3 brought an end to my interest in the top of the leaderboard as I scratched around for an even par ha! Finished on -20.....no damage, no gains. Onwards.

Finished up R3 & R4 tonight. Couldn't quite match the start, but pretty satisfied with a 62-62 finish to be in the clubhouse at -39. I'd be really surprised if this wasn't good for two promo marks, but you never know.

Consider myself kicked. Missed the cut by a single shot. . .I just knew when playing that 3 putt bogey on 16 in R2 was not going to be kind to my chances. Gonna play through R3 and 4 tonight for the practice and then start checking out next weeks course. The hunt for my first cut in Elite continues!

Well, bummed I missed by a bit at a chance for my first career win, but congrats to Nick Wilson. Crazy week that we were 8 and 10 shots clear of the field.
