Hello.
Once upon a time, I decided that something needed to be done about the fact that a tournament in the Pro Tours is basically over for anybody missing the cut. Hence, I came up with a humble little side event, namely
The Hunt for The Golden Cow
which usually runs during the time between two promo events. It is nothing special at all and the rules are very basic. Participants simply play their Platinum rounds and post the respective scores (no screenshots needed) here or in the weekly Platinum thread. Points are rewarded based on the total score after 4 rounds. Missed cuts are not taken into account in the sense that the score after four rounds is considered for everybody.
The weekly winner receives [number of participants] points, then one point less for each subsequent finisher. Note that those who do not finish their four rounds get 0 points.
NEW: All current Platinum players and all active players not deterred by the four extra rounds are welcome! If enough players outside of the Platinum Tour are interested, participants will be split into divisions.
Thus, if you happen to be interested, please confirm your participation in this thread (tag me maybe) and indicate your current (after the promo event) flight.
The Cow Hunt will start next week (TGCT-week 31 starting this Sunday, April 18), and registration is open until the conclusion of TGCT week 32 (Saturday, May 1).
Cheers,
Kevin

Only in challenger series, but I’ll sign up if it gets a division Welcome aboard! There has been a Challenge Circuit division since Season 5, so the chances are good.

Let's increase those chances! In again, making a debut in CC-E this week. Promo event result is a mystery as usual, but shockingly predicting to be in CC division.

So how does this all work exactly? I get we play and post our scores, so it’s based on the trust system. But are we just playing the weekly course in a regular local match?

I’m putting up very solid rounds this week in both the event and weekly tour I can't. I'm just basing this on the fact that you usually need a really good score in the promo event to move out of CC and we're literally in the early days at this point to make actual predictions. I'm merely predicting that I'm not shooting a score that will be enough to move to the pro tours since I don't see myself doing that. As for your earlier inquiry, you just play the 4 rounds in the TGCTours (Platinum Tour) society in game, and post scores here.

You play as if you were in Platinum (without cut). Thus, simply enter the official TGCT Platinum Tour society and play your four rounds per week. Post your total score here in this thread and feel free to tell us about your adventures out on the course. Have a look at the Season 7 thread to get an idea of how this works. Cheers, The Secretariat of the Golden Cow

Just to clarify, does playing really well give you a chance to go from CC-K all the way to pro in one event, or does it just move you up to higher CC levels?

In previous events, you've needed a score around mid-30 under par to have a good shot at that. Depends on course difficulty and how many spots are open in each tour, which I assume is not too many at the pro level since the top is so filled with players already. But you can certainly move a lot, especially if you're in CC-K and you've put up a nice score!
