With all these talks about 2K acquiring Tiger Woods and Ea sports getting back in the golf world with all four majors in their career mode, I ask this....
What would make an ideal career mode for you?

The first pixel golf game I ever took seriously and spent much time with was EA's TW08. I went through some of the career mode in that but never finished after I discovered on-line play and the PGAX (then CGAX) "society", although they weren't called that. I played maybe two career mode games in TGC2019 and none in 2K21 - I guess they just don't interest me as much as Society play.

A few things off the top of my head.... 1. Let me choose the golf courses if I wanted to. 2. Allow me to tweak attributes of the AI players. 3. Allow me to play turn based or ghost ball with the AI players in my group for that round. 4. Allow me to create AI players so I could include some historical players or even a crappy player like my real world self 5. Live weather or IRL simulated weather for the IRL dates the tourney was played during the season’s calendar year.

As many real life events from the Tour schedule, including majors.
Customizable schedule (if you can't get all the courses, let me use the ones I want), difficulty and AI.
Having sponsors mean something...like, if you're sponsored by TaylorMade, you can only play TaylorMade clubs. And sponsors should be gradually unlocked. You could start with a smaller company and work your way up. Bigger brands offer more money and better gear.
Make your winnings mean something, too...you could have a budget that would need to pay for a caddie, transportation, etc. Money left over could be spent on training equipment, a personal practice area, or maybe even things like a car or house. Make it a Tour Pro Simulator, why not?!?
Along those lines, start even before the Korn Ferry Tour. Maybe begin as a high school athlete, paying at a local muni-type course in a competition. Work your way up through the college and amateur ranks before going pro. I liked in the old TW games when you got to play as an amateur and possibly even get to play in the US Open if you won the US Amateur. Those TW games even let you choose between paying in the US, UK, or Asia Pacific amateur events.
I know a lot of this is pure fantasy, but a career mode in a PGA Tour game should be just that...the replication of what it's like to be a pro golfer.

I want something more immersive and connected with your golfer’s life outside just playing golf, I’ve wished this with every My Player/Career mode in any sports game.
I want to reap the benefits of my accomplishments. I want to buy cool cars and mansions. Something key to these individual player career modes is that you want to BE that person, become rich and famous and enjoy things outside of your sport. Really wish they’d put more elements like that in

To play against Professional Avatar is a must.
Sudden Death extra holes in case of tie.
Career mode otherwise has been garbage and unrealistic in TW and especially 2k/HB careers.
I recall a replay in 2k21 where it had Matt Kuchar holing out from a greenside bunker with an HB 3 iron. Lol!
