Like most other game updates, yesterday's update to PGA TOUR 2K21 is shrouded in mystery. I have the XBox version which is shown as version 1.0.0.12 on my Series X, and I can't detect in changes in it. I'm not a clothing or equipment horse, so I have't looked in the shop, but I do read there's some new stuff there. I heard from a PS4 owner that the "stability and performance improvements" tag was attached to their update. I did read that the canvass colors had been restored in the course architect, which is nice, but I'd like to know what if any changes were made to the gameplay. I couldn't tell any difference when I played four rounds, two of which were online matches, after downloading it. I still can't get a handle on why 2K/HB Studios are so bashful about posting update notes. If I'd invested the time and money in producing an update, I'd be wanted to advise my customers to keep them abreast of how the game is being supported

They also added Puma and Travis Mathew apparel, per a 2K video on their social media sites.
EDIT - as of an hour ago, I still don't see any of this new gear in the game on PS4.

I play on an Xbox One and fired up the system in the middle of the update...No clue for what it was for. However, the day before, I played my first round with decent tempo, no lagging, etc. Last night, after morning update, I shot a miserable round. Poor tempo, but admittingly, it could have been me...on further reflection most of it is on me.
Personally, I get anxious about any updates as I never know how it will affect game play one way or the other.

There were also Divot Derby updates, too, per the 2K twitter feed:
Divot Derby Patch Update: ⛳ Addressed concerns related to network disconnection ⛳ Addressed concerns related to stability issues ⛳ Addressed concerns related to the wrong player being declared the winner. ⛳ Addressed Parties not being able to enter consecutive matches

Personally don't care about the cartoon hats & clothing so I didn't look but I did see the canvas fences added back in to the designer, only thing I noticed in that area. What I was hoping for most with another update was the minimal but annoying screen freeze that occurs on the Series X at 60hz.
It's been posted enough so you know they've read about it but it obviously wasn't addressed. Happened a couple times last night during 2 rounds.
I think we'll always see the "stability and performance improvements" note with any update but doesn't mean a thing unless we're able see what specifically was tweaked. Baffling, as it was mentioned, why HB would keep closed lipped about this type of information. Just include the patch notes in game, simple step in eliminating constant speculation. But maybe they like it, who knows?

I have noticed a lot more issues with my swing tempo in the last few days on PS4. I pretty much only hit fasts now, after never having that be a problem before. If anything, I used to hit more slow tempo shots, but now it's either fast or perfect.
I've also had more mid-swing "freezes" and hiccups than I've ever had before, and these are on official courses in the game that aren't ones that usually offer lag. For example, I had some odd stuttering during multiple shots at TPC Twin Cities, which has never happened to me before.

Shot a decent couple of rounds pre update, then was all over the shop after! Like you, it could be me... I've recalibrated, completely ruined my tempo, recalibrated again and last night it seemed to be much better.

I had the same problem after the previous patch on PC, hitting fast all the time. I was fine after I recalibrated tempo, first time I have recalibrated since release date.

Honestly, I just don't feel an update that states "stability & performance" has a direct effect on the swing timing in the game unless there were immense fps drops & then again it would be only to smooth out an issue like that which we have seen before.
Post update I didn't notice any difference in my swing timing on the Series X at 60hz nor did I have any big change round to round with timing or shots. Still played a shiitty round then a decent round as usual. Timing was fine & that was without calibrating.
However I also think it can be different with/for individuals. Playing a round with a friend last night my tempo was just fine & he had a bad case of 'the slows' the entire round. We usually play pretty close matches. I proceeded to hit a Society round after & half way into it couldn't hit a thing straight. Just as it's been prior to any update.
Point? None, just my observation post patch! Keep pluggin' along, you'll find some tempo!

It could easily just be me and the effect of worrying what an update might do. But I do know I played really well last week and started really well this week, and then the update came down and I was struggling. Fulton is not a track to play with bad tempo! First time I've recalibrated in ages too, and after initially making it worse I do seem to have sorted it now.
