I'm sure I'm going to annoy someone here, and if so I apologise but I just have to get this off my chest.
I've been playing this game for almost a year now and managed to get out of Q school and into CCL. Since then I have made 2 cuts and very rarely managed to get round in near par never mind under it.
Now I play in a few of the other societies and can usually shoot reasonable scores, but when it comes to CCL I'm all over the place. The tempo seems totally different, swing speed is different and as for the "help" info on screen about club distance its really just a joke. Now please don't tell me I need to practice, practice, practice, I play almost every night sometimes 2 or 3 rounds a night. So my question is, are the settings on PGA Tour CCL way more difficult than other 2K21 Society Sites? If so I cant begin to imagine what they must be like at the top end of the tour and yet guys are shooting scores in the 50s !!!
Sorry to be b%&ing but I just find it so frustrating to the point where I think it might be better to give it up.
Hope I get some comments.
Take care, Ken (ernie yells)

Difficulty of the Society depends on how the admin of the society sets it up. I would say a lot of societies outside of this community use Pro settings (Similar to Beer League here). There are a fair share of Master setting societies. Since I started here I only play on Master settings even if I am just casually playing. From what I can recall for this community the only setting difference between the CC society and the pro tours is that we only get wind direction and not the actual speed of the wind. We have to guesstimate based on the circle around the directional arrow.
To answer your question. I would say that we play on more difficult settings than a lot of other societies, plus the schedulers vary conditions each round as to where a lot of societies may just leave everything to default. If you are finding the CC settings too hard, I would just opt out here and play in the Beer League, that's why they offer it.
There are several gameplay tutorials that may also give you some ideas on how you may be able to improve, but at the end of the day, playing two or 3 rounds a night isn't enough if you really want to improve and move up if I can be honest. I started in CCC and I am now in Elite, but I also have spent many hours on the range and putting green trying new things to improve.
I also would try to avoid any other societies that do not use Master clubs. There is a big difference between pro and master Clubs and it was messing me up going back and forth, so I stopped playing my Pro Club societies.
Keep your head up and hope this helps!

Without knowing the difficulty of all the other societies you play it's difficult to say?
Also what platform are you playing on?
If it's the same difficulty setting it is rather odd to have almost different tempos from time to time, but not uncommon for me.
There are occasions the game seems laggy for me, so it can take 2-3 close down and reloads to smooth out menu navigation etc, which I'm sure would affect swing tempo.
I only play and practice on master difficulty on pc as this it what the tgc tours society use, but there are many other societies that use pro settings or below which is way easier, so this could be the difference you're experiencing.
I always play with the controller wired too, and if I get a couple strange tempos, I disconnect the wire then reconnect and this ususl syncs the tempo back up and back to normal.
Taking regular practice swings can help pinpoint times when things need to be disconnected and reconnected again.
It's annoying to have to do this every few holes, but the limits the random tempos to a minimum for me.
There are many issues with the game but those at HB or 2K don't seem to care about real issues still in the game since day one, without even acknowledging that there's a issue, the 2K issue reporting system is ludicrous, you end up with a generic response with no proof or feedback if issues are or will be fixed
I've spent a good 20 hours reporting issues to no avail, all off my own back for the good of the game experience.

Are your other societies using Master swing difficulty? It sounds like you may be going from pro to master swing and not really adapting your game play.
If this is the case you really need to practice on master or find some societies that use similar settings to TGC Tours.

bemore & jimmer thank you both for your help and suggestions, you're obviously both way above me in terms of the game and your computer savvy as a few of the things you spoke of baffeled me lol, but I appreciate you taking time to reply and will give your suggestions much thought
Thanks again

I play TGCTours CC-I. I also play in some societies that use Pro settings. If you set up your shot the same, the only difference is a greater shot penalty with Master setting. While a 10 AM fast will hook the ball significantly with Master, it won't be nearly as severe with Pro setting.

CC-L settings should be exactly the same as your Q-school settings were.
Other leagues you will just have to see if they are pro vs. master settings as other alluded to, but Q-School should be exactly the same.
