Welcome to Sussex Downs, an excellent course in the World Cup of Design by digitalbunny . This english countryside course will challenge you in many ways, despite its short length. There is a ton of elevation changes and each green is fun to attack. Should make for a great 4 rounds. Good luck! From the designer in his course thread: I grew up playing a lot of downland courses in the south east of England, this inspired Sussex Downs. I always enjoyed playing these courses as they generally feature big elevation changes, high winds, and unique greens. Most downland courses have remained largely unchanged since construction in the early 20th century. These courses tend to be public, inexpensive, and quirky. I thought that this style of course would be a great fit for me to design, as if it isn't quirky (and a little silly in places) then you probably haven't capture downlands golf! Sussex Downs hopefully captures the downland vibe, with some huge elevation changes, green cuts into hills, and a very modest club house!

I'm not on this tour but had to say what a lovely course this is! Congratulations to the designer.

To say I ended up in a couple of interesting spots during those first two rounds in the very hefty winds might be an understatement ๐. A couple of costly DBs, the rest pars and birds. Always fun though. Was nice to see the course in a new light in Rs 2&3 too.
-11 touch and go to make the cut no doubt.

Since I'll probably skip the Plat course this week (this Fruity is giving me some serious hate in practice rounds!), decided to push hard for Elite this week. I played one my best 2 consecutive rounds yesterday to open with -22 at the half in these tough conditions. I was entertaining myself! A little choke job in last round will leave me at -38
And really, I have played alot of tournaments from Beer League to TrueSim and everyone is good, bu the elite scheduler is the best by far. Always a great course and set-up

As somebody who lives and plays golf in South East England I am sure looking forward to playing this one!

Rd1 and 2 winds were brutal with all of the elevation change on this course! Another lackluster opening set of rounds for me and likely another missed cut after going -3 in rd1 and -5 in rd2. I'll actually play well in Elite one of these weeks. . .maybe. . .I hope. The occasional slow swings creeping into my game are making it very frustrating.

Loved this course, which was welcome after skipping last week because it didn't fit my game very well. Played pretty well too. Decent opening round 62 that felt pretty good after not getting a bird on #1, which I'd done on every practice round and a bogey on #2. R1 was really boosted by an ace (First TGCT tournament ace!) on #7 that was just perfectly executed 5w cut shot back into the wind. Shot a very solid 61 in R3, but probably should have taken a break before R4 as I lost tempo a bit and couldn't get putts to go down, finishing with the worst round of the week at 64. Overall at -32, I expect I'll finish a little outside of the promotion marks again this week.

Sitting on 2 promo marks and shot a -32 this week (-11 in the final round with a nice hole out for eagle on the 72nd hole)
Right now I am sitting in 13th place which is projected to get a promo mark and send me to Platinum. There are a few folks behind me with rounds still to play. Fingers crossed I stay in range for a promo mark and make my first ever debut in Platinum next week!

Shot -8/-5 in the first two rounds which put me at 43rd. Went into my last two rounds with the mindset of just trying to get a promo mark at best which would put me at two. Shot lights out in the last two rounds (-12/-14) and ended up T3 and getting a promotion to Platinum. My short but sweet stay in Elite is over and I'm on to trying to make the cut each week. Have fun my Elite friends and hope to see you up in the Platinum tour!
