I couldn't disagree with you more. You can hardly say you are not getting the full game. The DLC is just cosmetic stuff, absolutely not needed imo. There is plenty of cosmetic apparel and clubs anyway with out paying extra. I paid a base price of £42 and I don't think I am missing out one bit because I haven't got a specific Under Armour Polo or Callaway driver. But if people want pay for these clubhouse who am I to say it's not worth it to them. EA's game will have a similar structure I sespect. Exactly! Not sure why this EA thread is in here constantly bashing 2k23 when this forum is all about 2k23? I hope these whiners are happy when they finally get EA PGA 23. It seems pretty obvious that 2K and HB seem to care about this version of the golf game as they keep updating it. It is far more attention than they ever gave us before, and I loved the game at launch and loving it with every new patch. They should rename this thread to Hate PGA2k23 but love me some EA! It's so obvious to me that these guys work for EA and are spies. What update did 2k3 have exactly except poor ball physics that exist so you'd buy vc balls? As long as people will give them $100 for a Tiger Woods avatar that couldn't even be bothered to motion capture his swing, they will keep feeding you all gruel for your hard earned money. That doesn't mean they "care" lol

This thread should probably just be put out of its misery at this point, since people don't want to keep things on topic.

I mean in comparison to this turd show of 2k23, they definitely won't do worse and it will certainly be 100% a better all-round product!

I mean Sand is not wrong. It's half a product at best. They removed ranked only to announce they'll add it back in later as if we should be grateful for it. Very limited cosmetics, very buggy and poor performance out the gate. Nothing added to CD, just a makeover. Screams that it was (and still is) not a full product that was fully tested. The game is bare. Just look at EAs offering of cosmetics - brandwise. Blows this game away. 2K21 has more cosmetics and character creation options than 2K23.
And the ones before 2K21 had even more customization it seemed. Anyone remember in the early days, (I forget which one it was exactly) when you could actually change the colors of your clothes? Some clothes had three areas, so you could really make some custom looks on your outfits.
But they took that out. Why? So they could sell more clothes. If we can change our colors, then they can't sell you the same shirt in 6 different colors because you don't like the one you got, or want a specific one. Its corporate mentality at its best. Do this because we can charge more and get more money if we do it this way. They fail to think along the lines of, if we please our customers and give them what makes THEM happy, then they will willingly by more of our games, and support us of their own accord.
Everything is about money to the higher ups, no matter what the programmers think, they want to earn a paycheck to live just like you and me, so they have to do what bosses tell them, or find another job.
My hope is that this EA game, if nothing else, will force competition, will force both companies to look at what people want to spend money on, and will help both games succeed and be good.

PGA 2k23 is one of the best golf games I have ever played and I've been playing them since Atari Golf. The gameplay is very challenging and rewarding and has a great risk reward element to it. The problem is that it's a skill-based game and that is going to create huge gaps. But it really isn't the game. It's the community and people who like the game sharing their playthroughs and having some fun with banter. I highly doubt that EA PGA 23 will have this type of a community but if it does have a bigger and better community, I would jump ship too. Or at the very least play in both leagues.

Unless EA's new golf game has vastly superior gameplay to that title it won't be worth buying. That putting meter in the trailer reminded me how crap the putting was in that game

In case anyone wants to compare 2K's Pebble to EA's:

Nice but lets see how it looks and plays in action.

That picture of Pebble has been out there since the game went up for preorder & it’s so distant it doesn’t offer a full presentation of the visual fidelity but there’s a chance it could be great. 2K/HB had an opportunity to make an impact here but they blew it again with more mediocre development they’ve put out. I get the feeling HB are on their way back to the Indy sector where they belong. They’re just not up to scratch, plain & simple.

Rory was a big budget game that was out the same time as the indie TGC1. For all HB's first game's faults it was still much better than Rory. Also I have a feeling we'd have a better golf game without 2K.Has all the PGA fluff done anything for the series anyway. Big sport game publishers doesn't necessarily make games better. 30fps is not good for a sports game and this will be upscaled probably with FSR 2 to 4K on consoles as EA has pushed the boat on the course graphics. I am surprised how awful the pro models look as well. I really thought that would be spot on. I was reading the other day that FIFA still has loot boxes. I have looked up reviews of EA's other sports games and they all seem to be pretty bog standard yearly releases.

And for the record from my short time of playing 2K golf games I am starting to dislike this publisher as much as EA. Bring back the indie published golf game 🤪
