Will EA have an anti cheat with their competitive modes? I don’t care about the arcade mode just want some sort of regulation in their competitive modes. If not then can’t take the game seriously.

With only 1 Course from the UK and Ireland in EA's game for a personnel point of view just hope HB/2K open up the designer and theme for which they used the Renaissance Club and let us use the pot bunkers just take out the assets for the course and give us the theme. PS i am only guessing its like that from when Chad golf released the theme's a few years ago. From what I’ve read the pot bunkers were specifically crafted by the devs on that course only so won’t be available anytime soon in the designer. I don’t understand why they can’t give us something like the retaining wall but with a revetted face instead of wood to create the faces.

Looks great. If reviews are good then I may just have to pick up a next gen console and leave HB’s buggy, messed up game behind.

Arcade is a competitive mode. Having the ability to spin the ball & boost power doesn't take that away from the game it just changes the target gross score you are trying to achieve.

This place is obviously pretty weighted towards those who enjoy course designing.
From my POV, I'm all about the gameplay - if the EA game feels and plays a lot more like actual golf, then I'm completely sold.
2K3 is the most far away from enjoyable golf than any other of the HB games. Even down to something like dropping the ball - how they've never sorted that out over the years is just crazy.
I feel sorry for the people that put so much time and effort into designing courses, only for them to be zero fun when the gameplay does it no favours.

It's only gone that way the last couple of games with the 1st two games it was about the golf,it's why they held course design comps to get courses to play.
So true links 2004 on xbox had about 7-8 courses still a class game.

30 courses is very good, sorry to bark on but back in the day leaderboard had 4 courses and people loved it, the courses on the ea game need some kind of leaderboard to play against friends score, maybe arcade, non arcade scores, il get it at some point but not paying more than 40 quid for it, I still say 2k23 will be the main game due to the better societies....the ea game will lose its appeal after 2 months.

With all these speculative posts, I will await any opinion on the game until after release. We all thought 2K23 was going to be great but as we have seen .....

I've publicly aired my grievances with EA, but I am not above buying one of their games. As said before, I've hated what they did with Madden, but on the other side, I I played NFS:Heat and loved it.
So far, everything I have read or seen about this EA game, I've liked. I'm being cautiously optimistic, and its looking like I'll give it a try.
I'm not one to play with other people. The single player experience is what I enjoy. I play this game mainly to enjoy single player career mode, and THIS website, because this is sorta like a better version of career mode.
HB just really gets on my nerves with their refusal to listen to customers and what the customers want, or report as bugs. I have a whole thread detailing where I reported a problem with getting VCs. They finally acknowledged to me it was a bug. They said they found it. They said they fixed it and the fix would go in, in the next patch. That was couple months ago. They've obviously put in patches because they've messed with fittings several times, and they found time to put in a clubhouse pass that they want me to pay for, but the problem they told me they fixed has still not been fixed. I told them in one email, "how do you expect anyone to pay money for VC's when you aren't even giving the few VCs that you say in game you are giving?" I also told them I would not buy the clubhouse pass because the rewards suck. Look closely, its nothing really new. its basic recolors of existing assets, and its stuff most people don't even care about.
Here is one bug that gets me. that they could really make money on in the pass if they would just fix it- character animations.
When I make what I consider a great shot, lets say I'm in the heavy rough, a terrible lie on a slope, and 200 yrds away, I calculate my angle, my club, and somehow manage to hit it perfect. and with all that against me, I get the ball right beside the green. right in line for an easy chip. But my character makes this sad face, oh that was awful!! No, no, HB, that was a great out, or scramble, or whatever you call it, in real life I am fist pumping, I just saved par. On the other side, I have had a terrible hole. finally I get to the green and managed to sink a putt from maybe 15-20 ft away, but double bogied. My character jumps around like I won the championship. what?? No one should ever jump around and fist pump and say I'm it, for getting a double bogie, sorry thats my opinion.
So what if they fix the animations, program the game to where you could set conditions for animations (because that IS a thing in other games), and then make new animations and sell THOSE on the clubhouse pass, instead of some recolor of a hat or sponsor ball that you can't even see? Stuff like that would sell. There is a reason Epic games made so much with Fortnite's battle pass. Because they knew their customer base, gave them what they wanted.
Did anyone else catch the part in the EA description where they talk about their courses being designed with Lidar drone technology?
Reading between the lines, if you pay attention, its almost as if EA has been silently monitoring the complaint threads against HB/2K and are trying to address those concerns!

The next 2K game will have to be a next generation leap in graphics. This new game from EA looks great, although not as smooth as I would like from the videos I saw.

It will be a battle of the game engines, Frostbite vs Unity. Se who can crank out the best animations.
Then it will be who can hold the users interest the longest with engrossing game play.

The graphics then are only a few steps below what 2K23 is probably.
