I play in four great societies on 2K23 now if EA had country clubs like it used to that might help but it’s difficult to get past the slow gameplay, yes I know golf isn’t a fast sport but it’s the backswing speed that puts me off as well as the terrible putting mechanics

And I actually prefer the graphics on 2k23 over the cartoon like ones at EA GOLF. Don't get me wrong... some of the EA Graphics are better but 2k23 feels more realistic. That Kinetic Course last week over at Clementon Trail was amazing! And the course on ROTG this past weekend was unreal. 2k23 has at least 500 courses that blow EA GOLF out of the water.

As I said each to their own some people like pretty graphics I don’t i prefer fluid gameplay

Same. The only thing keeping 2K23 active is this site/ forum and some of them have made it personal because they want people to come back to 2K23. I do appreciate the admin and everything they've done, and have also donated because I do not want this support to end, but the lengths some go to bash EA's game is both hysterical and embarrassing. It's almost as bad as the console wars. It's a thread about a video game for goodness sake. Bashing the game is not a personal insult to you. The problem is there is so much to criticise about the game. Yeah some might like the easy more chilled out approach (probably those who struggle with tempo on 2K23). There is no feel to the swing at all in EA's game. The putting is awful, just really crap. Flop shot is horrendous, as is the whole scrambling game if you think about it. The swing has the worse lag imaginable in a sports game, it's like streaming the game with awful latency. The toughest swing difficulty is just too easy. 3 click is way too slow to have a challenge. 3D grass draw distance is terrible. The physics where the ball rolls downhill through the rough is just silly as is the way they move your ball from off a slope to a flatter lie. If there was no other golf game I still wouldn't play the game, it's that poor. Also your comment about 2K23 only being active because of TGCTours is nonsense. TGCTours is a minute fraction of the people that play the game throughout every platform. I am sorry you're upset or you think it's embarrassing that people dig EA's golf game but there are plenty of good reasons to. A good single player career mode just doesn't do it for most as the online options are piss poor. If it's not personal then why are you quoting me and keep coming back to talk about a game you don't like? On 2K23 your ball could be one inch off the fairway and now you don't have a club to reach the green so don't even get me started about the issues that game has as well. There are reasons why 2K's game didn't get great reviews either. "Yeah some might like the easy more chilled out approach (probably those who struggle with tempo on 2K23)" I love the condescending attitude here, like some elitist. I've played the series and put hundreds of hours into each iteration. We need a solid golf game and we're not going to get there if some of you feel threatened by other games in the same genre existing.

Bet yeah the game needs a new engine.

The problem is we only have 2 cuts of rough, its also stupid that you can pull out a 3 iron from a bad lie and the ball goes so far. Who would use a 3 iron from a lie sitting down in the heavy rough but in 2K23 it's the club you use to get distance, hopefully we get a remodel of fairway rough. We need much more cut lengths in the next 2K game that would be a massive improvement, but the spin physics from heavy rough around the greens is a huge improvement than what we had in previous games. You actual get penalised now for missing green in the thick stuff.

A few seasons playing career mode is about it for most people. Societies gives people other options. And that is a huge checkmark for 2K.

Oh putting on EA golf is terrible compared to putting on 2k23 where the putting stroke has a great feel to it. Here’s a putt on 23 I think you will Struggle to replicate on EA’s golf but that’s just my opinion. www.xbox.com/play/media/X5KJV8TFWCI have to say this - SHOW OFF. That was a sweet read right there.

There is no feel because it’s a marker/intent focused stroke at present & is all EA have to do is rework it & improve the roll/cup physics slightly. I’ll be honest I haven’t played 2K23 in a long time & I’m getting the itch to revisit it but hate the randomness on Xbox. Looked into the Razor controller options & that’s too much money for the benefit of one game so I’m keeping an eye on the PS store to see if I can get the game cheap but it’s full price at the minute.

Xbox has always been my go to platform for gaming but I do own a PlayStation & from what I can gather 2k23 plays more consistently on Sony’s platform so I’ll buy the game on the PS store when there’s a sale.

I bought the physical discs for XBox Series X and PS4 Pro on Amazon. Both cost under £18.

Also the game plays absolutely fine on Xbox Series X with the Razer. I didn't even calibrate and I hit way more perfect shots than I ever have on PC with the Razer or DS4 and DS5. So legend swing difficulty plays great now on Xbox
