williamwes626 Shocker, 4 is playing as the 5th most difficult hole, at least in the cc-a tour. It's short but those little pitches, particularly if they are downwind, are tricky. The green also falls every so slightly away, which doesn't help... *evil laugh*

I'll play my first round tonight...this is a challenging/difficult course for me. Best practice round was +7 and I hacked away like a dog to get that. 17th or 18th hole was my undoing with the rip rap boulders on the left side of the fairway...The Boulders of Doom...
Anyways, I've been coming up with a game plan. If I can shoot +5 in the high wind round, then I might be able to sniff par in the other. Just shows the current caliber of player (me) as I don't have the luxury of shooting -15 and pouting that I was robbed on a few putts. You know the mantra, "It should have been way better score (-27) save for the tricked hole locations, blah, blah blah."
You'll have to forgive my demeanor as I've been having to eat a sh#t sandwich in my past events and I fear that I'm starting to like it...
I write the above with silly sarcastic tomes highlighting my own self owned deficiencies at this game. Good luck to all. And a shout out at the course designer...well done my friend.
Tim Hebert Circle K-ing the drain and soon to land at the door steps of the big L tour.

timh Thanks! My advice for you is that (aside from 17) there is always a place to miss. Most of the greens have bailout areas with pretty easy up and downs. Good luck!

-6 in the first and -5 in the second. Should comfortably make the cut this week but I'll wait and see before playing the next two rounds. Nice course.

Nice course for sure. The 17th pin for the 1st round should have been rangered out. Bad pin with no chance at a putt less than 20 feet. Hole locations on top of small bowls like that are usually verbotten even if there is no red around the hole. Other than that, great course and I enjoyed my first round.

I went from being apprehensively comfortable to apprehensive by bogeying the last two holes.
That pin 1 placement on 17 is just mean!!
As always though, great choice, loved the course!
Yup, my 16 ft chip from the left side turned into a 22 ft putt coming back from the other side. Luckily I nailed the putt but 17 Rd 1 pin placement was a challenge. And if you have a red fast tempo issue going into that hole you could be in trouble. I actually hit the spine and ball goes slowly past the hole but then trickles to the left and my dangerous chip was the next shot.

I will be the odd man here. Although I played well in round 1, I did not like the course. I scored well in round 1 but this course punishes what I thought were good drives that somehow found the rough, and approaches that hit in the middle of the green found the bunkers or greenside rough. I am not getting into the few silly pin placements, especially 17. Maybe it was the very firm conditions that is clouding my opinion.
This in no way minimizes the respect and admiration for the designer, as I am sure many many hours went into the design of this course. Thank you.

It's one of my earliest designs, so I think my more recent efforts are better. The fairways are quite wide so once you've gotten used to the course you can see where the percentage plays are, and how to avoid the bad bounces. The crowned greens are best held with runups from some places, but you have to find them. The pin on 17 did border on unfair, I'll give you that. I built the greens to roll a bit slower, whereas my later designs are built to handle the fastest green speeds.

-6 third round. Bogeyed the last after hitting it into the ocean for the second time this week. Tempo has been weird this week, I feel like I'm having to smash it to avoid anything on the slow side.

Finally got my 1st promotion and into the K Tour.
1st tournament couldn't have gone any better either... shot -15 (71, 71, 62, 69) my third round was just about perfect as they come. Bogey free 10 birdies, was nice to see some birdies finally drop instead of just going by the hole.
also sorry for asking this again, where do we get the tags for our signatures again, it seems I lost the website for it. thanks in advance.

One of my least favorite courses I've ever played. Way too many bad bounces.

Rd 1 -4 Rd 2 -2 Rd 3 -11 Rd 4 -6
-23( currently 6th in CC-G)
In Rd 4 on the back 9 I’d set up for a shot and within seconds a strong headwind turns into either a crosswind or a tailwind. When you set up for a headwind shot and right before you are about to swing the meter swings to a tailwind, ect it can affect your shot pretty bad. On the last 5/6 holes I just waited 30 seconds before swinging. I get swirling winds but not a headwind that turns into a tailwind unless a cold front blowing through. And there were very little trees to have swirling winds like that. Other than that the course was good. I thought the tough pin placement on 17 in Rd 1 should have been in Rd 2 so the cut chasers would have gotten even more nervous as that hole could have been a good knockout blow.

Damn, damn, damn. Set myself up beautifully after 2 rounds to maybe get a promotion this week, only to almost choke everything away. At least I think I managed to do just enough to get myself one mark towards the next flight, but since 2 were there for the taking that would have gotten me there, it kind of feels disappointing. Oh well, been playing really well lately and still did in the first half, so I think I just caught a bad break in rounds 3 and 4 with tempo issues, to a point where in hole 1 during round 3 I got 4 different ones through 4 shots, like... huh? The week felt certainly tougher than most here, but that's perfectly fine! I liked being tested a little harder this week and what's probably going to happen next week too. Might be in the minority with that opinion, I don't know. Could have one mark to show for this week, so it's not all that bad even though it feels like it now. Forward! The course was perfectly fine and THAT pin I didn't mind too much. Gave me the most to think about in a long while on CC, to kind of figure out what would be the best way for me to approach it and it was actually a pretty tough one to come up with the best answer to!
-7, -5, -3, -6 = -21.
