Bearforlife, this is a great course, and one of my top from the WCOD so far. Your ability to weave the route between the trees, little lake and big lake was really well done. The holes toward the end of each nine that played to and around the big lake were by far my favourites. You really know how to frame a view. Your planting throughout was really well done as well.
I really enjoyed this course and wish you luck in the contest as I think you will do well.

This is probably going to come across as quite negative (and I don't want it to) - but this could quite easily have been the best course in the competition by a mile (so far) - if only you had let us see all the amazing planting / rockwork / lakes / coastline / views from the tees (and second shots). So much of the great stuff just wasn't fully viewable when standing over the shots though - had to pan the camera up or use scout cam to see it. Great holes and fun strategy though - and that driveable par 4 green is the most bonkers green (in a good way) I've seen.  Was unfortunately rather laggy for me in the first few holes (although much better on the back nine for that) Overall - still a good job (but I'm so sad as it could have been absolutely amazing with slightly better sightlines) Thanks man greatly appreciated easily my favorite course I’ve designed still learning the little things glad you enjoyed |

Was finally able to play this last night. Extremely enjoyable. Enjoyed the greens and even though they can present a challenge, my CCG level play was able to still score well when executing good shots. I shot -8 with a double so I was very happy. Good shots rewarded and my bad shots were punished. Just what I expected out of a well designed course.
Good luck with the contest. This one I think could be one to watch.

This is what I have come to expect from you Bear. A course that is easy on the eyes, but tough on the scorecard. Man, I know that tough greens have always been one of your typical features, but some of these greens were absolutely brutal. Keep up the good work bro, and good luck in the contest! Very nicely done! Always cool to see Maine as a course location here, as some of my favorite courses IRL are in Maine. Have done a few myself. (Actually, my Penobscot Bay is based on the Samoset which is technically in Rockland!)...good stuff.

I noticed you published a PGA version with two tees and 14 converted to a par four as well... that version is great as well and worth a play. Good luck in the contest Tyler!  |
