the game needs only one difficulty swing and no bs power meters or aids. the community around this game is segregated because of it. cross platform play would be good as well.

A little side note. I went back to load 2k21 today and there was a 3.5GB download? Did I miss something? I just did a full reinstall of windows a month ago and downloaded the game in full, and today a 3.5GB download? Was asking Carol about you a bit ago, miss you being around Ron. Some of that DL could have been the last traunch of gear for the most recent Clubhouse pass? And the other stuff mention as well. Yeah taking a break on this game. After 5 + years I couldn't be bothered to try to overcome some of the serious issues in this game that I see. Good to see you are still around and doing well, Art.

OK my realist side is coming out but if you take the total membership here @ TGCT which is about 7400 (according to the numbers I get from the members list... 147 pages x50 per page) and that is assuming they are all active... and you look at the number of PGA 2k21 units sold (around 2 million link)... we are such a small fringe of designers and players... less than .5% (.37% to be exact) that HB and 2k may not even notice if we all quit. It is my opinion that we are not the ones filling their coffers. The arcade style of players are their focus. So seems to me they will continue to pander to that audience. I hope I am wrong but I am not holding my breath. Just my opinion.

More money more resources more fasts in the lake for me. Seriously this is going to be a great future in Video golf.

I hope I am wrong but I am not holding my breath. Just my opinion. I've been saying this for years. Our little society here is very vocal but such an insignificant part of HB's world. That is why it is so amazing that they have helped this site so much. HB has seen a passion that the players and the admin have here and they want to help us, but when it comes to bug fixes and additions to the game, HB has always been more focused on the much larger piece of their profits. I can't blame them.

Let's not cry wolf just yet, no one knows anything. No one crying wolf here..... I just gave some basic math facts and my opinion. :-) Oh my post wasn't directed at you, but the shout box went absolutely haywire yesterday and everyone has hit the panic button. Yes I do fully appreciate the fact that 2K is evil and I too am worried about what will happen with the game (I would absolutely hate a yearly iteration of the game) but we don't know squat at this point so it's just idle speculation. If we get to continue in peace here at TGC Tours, the game doesn't turn into an arcade-style mess and the course designer remains, I'll be happy. Until I see evidence to the contrary, I'll reserve my judgement on the deal. Heck, if 2k22/2k23 turns out to be garbage, we'd probably stick with 2k21 anyway (I hope).

FWIW while Twitching last night we were visited by someone who claimed to be QA for 2K/HB for this game. Really just seeing how we liked the game and was also promoting interest in the new Divot Derby mode. The individual seemed to know too much to not be legit, and it was during that stream that all the "names" in TGCT world started Twitching their DD mode games.
Only reason I am posting this is to show that it seems that 2K/HB does look at who is streaming the game, so they do notice us. We (about 5 were in discord while 4 of us played skins) had a great convo with the QA rep. If we talk up how great TGCT is (which we did) I am sure it can do nothing but help the relationship. Yes we are a small fraction of their desired audience, but if we convey our passion for the simulation aspect of the franchise it can only help keep alive the things we want in the game (i.e. Course Designer and realistic game play).
I agree that more arcade players will bring more $$$ to the coffers, I just hope that we can have both modes in the game.
Wow I am tired of typing.
Thanks for reading.
Onward!

the game needs only one difficulty swing and no bs power meters or aids. the community around this game is segregated because of it. cross platform play would be good as well. The reason why this game sold so many was because of so many difficulty levels. You cannot just have just one swing level as it would eliminate people from buying it because of word of mouth. why would they take away things that are currently in 2K21? Those things sold the game. They are putting more resources into the new game. It will be a better game. The game play is awesome despite the overplayed red fast argument. You have to have some kind of a power draw in the game so that is not going away. And HB is not going away. They are just under the 2K name. There will be a lot of influence from HB. The TGC Tours is not going away IMO, too many people play and HB people know that. The societies drive the game as well. They will improve the Career mode no doubt but the societies is where it is all at. And of course the course designer mode is not going away. The overall game will get better no doubt.

I am not sure if the people worried about the API play other online games but from the games I play outside of PGA. Most popular games allow access to API info. Almost all the FPS games like COD and Apex and Siege have stat tracking sites where you can see all your stats for each round who played with their stats. Some have more then one site dedicated to pulling those stats. Some are even very detailed like COD trackers have all kinds of crazy stats pulled. This is all on a Third Party Site. So I don't see 2K coming in and just all the sudden blocking access to it but that is just my thought on it.

While the numbers are beyond debate I'd suggest that the good people at TGCTours have made a significant contribution to the success of the franchise. First a place for the non arcadey golfers to play. But more importantly a huge amount of quality courses have come from TGCT members and TGCT design competitions, including some which have gone on to be official TGC courses. I'd be very surprised if 2K weren't aware of this.

Zero stats for any mode except for how many VC coins we have. The other stuff is filler, i.e., upcoming calendar events in the Neighborhood and entering any locker codes if you have them. You can scan your face for MyPlayer. That’s about the only real interaction there is between the game and the app. Otherwise, 2K offers nothing of substance in that app and NBA 2K is a flagship sports title for them. If they aren’t doing it there, I’m not confident they would care enough for their golf game. TGCT needs an app though. If I had the knowledge, I’d do it for them for free and allow download access for free. But I don’t so it’s just a nice thought on my end
