Welcome to week 25 as we visit Scarlet Dunes Golf Club by SleepyPanda7 I stretched the course out a bit for round 1, but feel like rounds 2 - 4 should pay somewhat well. Play well

Ooof... nothing like getting a 300 yard drive in the fairway and leaving 260 to the pin.
The approach on 8 is also going to blow some minds.
All in all, shot -6 in a practice round, with the only bogey coming on 17 after missing the fairway. Open enough to see low scores despite the length.

Thought I was ready to roll this week with 5 birds Ina row on my practice round... Except round one I did everything wrong and broke even... However 2nd round I was -10 followed by a couple -7-8.. so atleast it didn't snowball into a bad round as long as I make the cut that is ,😁

Sorry a little late this week with notes...
SCARLET DUNES
Black tees = 72-7765
Blue tees = 7125 (3 rounds to played on these tees) The course handicap and hole handicaps may not be accurate since they probably differ between blue and black tee rounds.
Architect: Christian Andrade
"Dunes styled course in a Delta theme. Dunes surrounding and framing each hole with the ocean nearby as a backdrop and feature on some holes. Sloped Greens with specific sections that need to be hit to be close to the holes followed by generous fairways. Yardage of the course is long but cutting corners and run outs make it play shorter."
Catcherman has been gracious to give us a 600 yard break for 3-rounds but for that first round playing the course at 7725 yards, we're getting at least four are 500 yards and a couple more are just under between 480-500.
All yardages here listed are for the blue tees. I didn't get a chance to play the black tees yet but all the fairways are wide enough to handle most driver inaccuracies for the longer par-4's. With most holes, it'll be about the approach shot more than the drive. There are optimal spots on the fairways that make some holes easier but we can still use a lot of power. I'm working on getting past that 101% more often and this is a good place to focus more on power than accuracy off the tee. The greens are not quite as tough as some of the undulating ones we faced recently. Some doglegs can be cut across with long drives - I highlighted which holes they are.
1-5-538. A great way to get acquainted with Scarlet Dunes, #1 is a lock for birdie. Par will lose a shot to the field. There’s a whole lotta mess of sand and dirt all over the holes, so this is a great way to get adjusted to it. A wide fairway for anyone who didn’t make it to the driving range before the round, the 2nd shot is blind, with the shy green hiding behind the tall dunes. There’s a ridge left of the green that can be helpful.
2-4-426. Ahh, it’s so roomy on the fairway, I can hold a 50-person aerobics class – then again, I don’t do aerobics, so maybe I'll forget that. The approach isn’t blind this time, but it’s uphill 35 feet, so club up. Only the front left of the green has a major slope to worry about.
3-3-151. Very kind of the architect to give us a large landing area despite this being the shortest hole on the course. Club down one or more depending on the wind. A lot of these downhill short par-3’s can be deceptive. It’s easy to sky the ball over the mild green and with all this bumpy sandy land, they’ll be tougher recoveries than normal.
4-4-359. One of the more unusual hole designs around, this dips into a valley area and then up and around raised dunes, heading right. With just 2 trees in between tee and green, we can cut across the dunes and at least leave a splash shot out of the bunker right of the green. Go for it in an eastern wind/tailwind but either use a fade or draw around the tallest tree. A straight shot across will be knocked down. The 3-tiered green is the first menacing putting surface of the course-stay below the hole.
5-4-449. Christian the architect hinted that we can cut across certain holes – this is another one. We can’t quite reach the green but cutting across the dunes to the left will make this dogleg left much shorter. Pins on the left side of the green will be tougher.
6-4-472. Ahh another roomy fairway, I love this green color. I can relax with a 3-wood but it’s tough to pull off a big time fade to hit the driver area which is much more stressful (or knock it off the ridge left and it’ll bounce back to the short grass. Perhaps it’s best with driver since any 3-wood landing in the big area will then have to be followed by a 200+ yard shot. The green is lightly two-tiered – below the hole as they say.
7-3-165. #3 handicap A short iron in and it should be an easy par. Good chance for birdie as well – it’s downhill and the green is reasonable. Just clear the water.
8-5-542. Keep the ball as far left as possible off the tee to shorten the approach. Another fairway that’s bigger than my home LOL, I think I’ll go for more power – usually I hit 101%. A good time to go for that 105% mark. If we go too far left and land in the rough, a tree up ahead blocks off the view of the green and the water to the left of the green. Behind the tree, you can knock it off the ridge on the right to help your journey to the two tiered green.
9-4-514. #1 handicap The longest par-4 has an airplane runway width and it’s downhill so some balls may bound into the rough on the left. The approach can be dwindled down to 150 yards but the green has a severe false front and scary diagonal split. With the #4 pin, just below that dip, anything landing above the hole is an auto-bogey. It’s impossible to stop the ball from the higher back-right portion.
10-4-492. A dogleg left that we can cut across, if you can hit it over the short trees left, than only a wedge will be needed to complete the tee-to-green trip.
11-5-510. A drive just short of the quarry cutting across the fairway and an iron will be good enough for the elusive eagle chance. It’s too bad the green and water are friends and have to sit so intimately together like they do. Any slow tempo approach will be wet – especially when going for the #4 pin, just 10 feet from wa-wa. Landing beyond the hole isn’t so bad here, at least we can see the hidden waterfall. This waterfall is not as scary powerful as the one at Inca’s Edge during the promo event last week which looked like it could shred a yacht.
12-4-330. Come on, I’ve watched people on Twitch – I know 98.32% of us will use driver on this drivable par-4. We’re not going along the fairway but over more tall dunes. The green is spacious but it’s another one that likes to get all cozy with the quarry. The #4 pin is just 15 feet away from the blue stuff.
13-3-151. Another lighthearted hole that says ‘please birdie me’, these par-3’s provide some of the more scoreable opportunities at Scarlet Dunes. Again, just don’t land short or it’s into the 20 foot deep bunker – alright I exaggerate – about 16 feet deep.
14-4-449. Memories of Inca last week comes to mind when I see this split fairway. Drives right will clear the trees and leave the optimal yardage for a nice fat sand wedge birdie chance. Pin positions on the green’s left side are more dangerous.
15-4-468. Chances are we can clear the internal fairway bunker since this hole dips downhill and heads left but it will shrink the fairway psychologically. The approach and green are hunky dory – strong skills should keep the bogeys away.
16-5-538. Another chance for eagle glory, this par-5 can get easier with an east wind helping, there’s a good chance we can reach the green in two. The waterfall left and the water around is easily avoidable and shouldn’t hinder any drives.
17-3-157. Playing on the blue tees, this shrinks to 138 with the #4 pin – so a birdie chance on Sunday. Still, it’s the toughest green of the par-3s.
18-4-445. #2 handicap The 18th central bunker can be cleared even against the wind and there’s plenty of fairway room to avoid it altogether. This green is best friends with the sea and sits so water to the right and behind become the dangers for us golfer people. The #4 pin is 15 feet from water – but if it’s a Sunday round and we’re in contention, it’s an approach shot that will have high pressure. Luckily, I’m usually in contention in the first round not the last.
Good luck!

Round 1 I was only able to break even after way to many bogeys and a couple hazards... However I whipped a -10 up in round 2 to hopefully make my CC-E cut line after that I went -6 and -9 overall I thought it was a good course with tough pin placement

-7 in R1 even though I wasn't feeling it, followed by -12 in R2. Really Low scores will be needed to be within shouting distance of promo marks. Fun course! A few too many tucked pins in R1 for my taste.

An average -7 65 in Round 1 has me in 22nd out of the first 100 in CC-B. Didnt play that great but I was able to rally on the back 9. Second round I felt like I was firing on all cylinders and ended Round 2 with a -13 59. LOW scores will be needed to just make a cut this week. The wide open fairways will give the bombers a big advantage as well (I was using the purple TS3 driver and 3 wood from Titleist).

Big fan of this course. Real emphasis on the second shots and not so much off the tee. Sitting at -23 thru 2 rounds on CC-A. Inching close to the Kinetic Tour, fingers crossed!

First week in CCA and just made the cut. Played the third round earlier, probably the most ridiculous round I've had on this game since I bought it. Started with an eagle and a birdie, then two double bogeys later in the front 9, before albatrosses on 11 and 16 with an eagle on 12 to end up -8 for the round. Crazy 😂

Phil Mickleson would be proud of that card! I'm 100% convinced that we've found Phil's burner account.
