Welcome to week 24! Bet you didn't know that Huy Fong Foods is based in Cades Cove, TN or that Terry Grayson is the secret behind the scenes CEO. Whatever you do... don't ask what the secret meat is! This week we head to their home course, Cades Cove by Terry GraysonWindy and firm week ahead, but this is an enjoyable track that should be fun to play. Remember the old man is color blind.. so enjoy the pins if they get a bit colorful!

I made a new forum account to match my gamertag. Previously jaemmer89 if there's any confusion anywhere.
After a good few weeks my trusty three year old controller went to sh%$ last week. Hooking left and not staying it the swing lines and what not.
Terrible time for this to happen as I was two promo marks away from the pro tours.
I missed the cut at -9 and will surely get two strikes. Anyone know why I was projected 3 demo's? I had one promo and it was showing a projection of three strikes?
Anyways I'm trying to hold of on buying anything console related as I'm trying to buy one of the new systems actively.
I think I'm going to take a break until I can get a new console.
I may participate in the promo but my controller is such a wreck right now that I can't justify playing any competitive rounds unless I see a manageable cut line to get rid of a demo.
Good luck everyone!

Started off with a -11 followed up with a -10 for the first two rounds of this week. Hoping to continue that form through the next two.
I got a new controller the other day, it works well on full swings and whatnot but for some reason the swing line always comes back from the bottom right on putts even though I feel like I'm doing the same movement as I always have. It has resulted in a few misses on pretty easy ones, will have to work on that.

I don't think you're gonna find a perfect swing line out of the box. I think they just need to be broken in.

CADES COVE
Par 71-7200
Architect: Terry Grayson
A very relaxing environment awaits us as Cades Cove. There are trees and mountains, nice serenity, and great vibes . There aren't too many stressful holes and there are plenty of birdie chances but not a total cake walk with tough conditions. It's a well balanced test of abilities for us with some great views. I only got to play one round since the promo event is also this week.
1-4-447. Cades Cove starts out with a winding but malnourished fairway that doesn’t leave much room for error. The fairway bunker left will get mighty fat eating so many golf balls at the 300yd mark. The green, protected by bunkers front and right is heavily sloped and will test our putting skills very early on. You can run it up onto the green for easier access to front pin locations.
2-3-162. The diagonally placed green asked for a fade off the tee around the two bunkers right. The green is a bit easier cause it slopes towards the middle but it still can be tricky.
3-5-545. The 3rd hole is a straight par-4 with a bunch of bunkers – some protecting the small green that’s divided into 3 sections. The slope runs hard to the front so it will be able to hold long 3-wood approaches.
4-4-338. A great chance for birdie, a powerful drive and good short game should be enough.
5-4-460. #1 handicap A basic par-4, it can lull us into thinking its easier than it really is due to its subtleties. The green slopes from back-right to front left.
6-4-408. The hole was listed at 351 on the overhead but I was on the back tees, so maybe manipulated tees were used here? It’s a driver, pitch sucession but water runs along the entire left side. The green is flat enough and some long putts could drop.
7-3-144. Another chance at birdie, we walk and play along side the water left like on 6.
8-4-463. #3 handicap Well the course had been scoreable so far, but #8 has a significantly cambered wide fairway. The approach in has a slope on the front right of the green to help get close to the pin.
9-4-448. Driver tee balls must contest the big bunkers pinching the fairway, but if you can carry them, the hole plays easier. There’s a Biarritz green to battle here and water left.
10-3-180. The charm of this course continues to relax me but the 3 large bunkers surrounding the green could ruin my peace. The front of the green’s left to right slope can be helpful.
11-4-442. A light double dogleg hole, landing right on the fairway gives the best angle. Just like #10, the green has a severe slope left to right.
12-4-353. Our choice; we could go driver/pitch or wood/wedge. The green is a bit tough in areas.
13-4-525. #2 handicap One of the longest par-4’s we’ve faced this season, the fairway is wide but sloping heavily right so the most crucial tee shot of the round. I had a 12 mph tailwind, landed on the right side of the fairway and still had 187 to the flag and a blind shot behind the bunker so I’m staying left next time. The green slopes front to back.
14-3-152. We should stay below the hole or the nasty green might slap us around a little. LOL I got stuck with a long downhill putt that wasn’t pretty.
15-5-552. Keep the drive dry and have some fun on this conquerable 15th.
16-4-419. Just a beautiful hole and I used follow cam on the downhill drive, it was just awesome seeing the ball zip through the sky with the trees and mountains around. Very nice Terry. The green is flat in the middle but severe around the edges.
17-4-448. The drive must deal with a thin fairway, there’s just enough room around the trees for a draw if we’re shot shaping. The green’s backboard could be helpful.
18-5-554. Another fun par-5, this finale gives us a chance to end on a positive note. The double dogleg has water right but should be a birdie hole.
I might play another practice round since you can tell I don't quite have the feel of the course yet, but good luck to everyone. --- I made some notes for the promo event Inca's Edge course too if you wanna check 'em out. I guess I'll post them on the promo event page under News/Announcements.

Its taken a few calibrations to get the tempo side sorted, hitting enough perfects or close to to not end up in trouble too often. The putting was a bit better in the third round as well, starting to work out the line to keep it straight.

-11 in R1. Woah.
Super nice course Terry, really enjoying it, especially with three eagles in R1. Had an ace in practice rounds last week, which means it won't happen during the remaining three rounds.
I'm assuming the mountains we can see are the Smokies?

How was the 3rd round for everyone? Is the wind in this round brutal? I'm nervous that I won't score well. Keep in mind I'm still trying to get my tour card and have posted a 75, 71 for the first two rounds.

I shot 63, the wind was a bit annoying on some of the longer par 4s especially if it was a headwind. Almost turned them into par 5s.

CC-B
-12/-4/-8/-13
-37 Total
Could have done much better if I would have performed better in R2. Probably my only week in CC-B as I am most likely getting moved up with a decent showing in the promo event.

-29 for the week in the realms of CC-G. I have been torching it lately, and I've brought my game to levels which I have rarely seen before. Got 4 well balanced rounds in, another thing I have never really seen before. Barely missed out on double promos this week, but it's okay. I've got a great run of good finishes going and this week keeps it rolling. Too bad my promo event could have gone better, but it is what it is.
Those round 3 conditions were really tough, but unlike what I usually do, I didn't crumble this time and shot -8. It was almost my best round this week, shockingly. The course was fantastic!
-6, -9, -8, -6 = -29.

Finished at -40 in CCB. Good enough to finish tied for 5th and another couple of promotion marks.

I got lazy with hole 18 in Rd 4. I missed 2 very short putts and I would have had a T-9. I took the birdie for granted and the green ripped it out from me with a stupid bogie and currently sit with a T-13. You have to make the putts.
