I was thinking about this the other day and wanted to throw it out to the community. If either of these 4 "resorts", Bandon, Streamsong, Cabot, or Sand Valley decided to build a totally brand new course (I know some of these places already have new courses planned so ignore those), who do you think should get the nod and which property would you like to see them work on and of course, why?
Another interesting and fun addition to the question would be who OTHER THAN Hanse, C&C, and Doak who would you like to see get the hypothetical job.

Has to be Streamsong - 14,000 acres to choose from and some of the most diverse land in the country. Seeing as the resort is always trying to do something different each time, I'd propose a Jackson-Kahn or DMK course that runs through the pines and wetlands of Little Payne Creek DMK is maybe the only world class architect who hasn't worked here, but he does his best work on sweeping plots so this may not be his style, whereas JKD are more familiar with working through the pines and it could be an absolute breakout course for them.

Bandon gets my pick - found this site near Preserve and Trails: Not 100% sure about the architects. Maybe a Clayton, DeVries and Pont project perhaps?

Literally right next to the 15th at Cabot Cliffs... A bit fantasy, as you'd need to re-route the road and buy a few houses in order to make the most of that river and the cliffs, but it'd fit right in with the ethos of the course. If you can get up close to Cliffs' 15th, you're looking at 30m high cliffs. In terms of who, I'd love to see David McLay Kidd get another great site like Bandon Dunes. I've played his Machrihanish Dunes and it's pure crazy fun golf. All for that.

TannerBronson and I toyed with the idea of pulling in the LiDAR for that strip of dunesland for "Bandon Links" - would be a fun spot for an out-and-back

I love all of these responses and I have a lot of thoughts on all of them! tpetro that screen shot is gold. I snipped it myself and I'm working on a hypothetical routing for the plot. I don't know much about JK and I'm not a huge fan of DMK but I bet Keith Rhebb & Riley Johns could do some cool work there. Maybe Kyle Franz too with his experience at the Rio Olympic course. With that being said, I would actually like to see you and me collab on that plot. @cd06 that screen shot is also gold. I will be working on a hypothetical routing there too. I would love to see a Rob Collins design at Bandon. I think he could do some awesome stuff with those landforms. b101 another sick screenie. Yes, this will be a third plot to receive a hypothetical routing laid upon it. As mentioned, I'm not a huge fan of DMK but I bet he could do good work there with his Bandon experience. Again though, I think Rob Collins could tear it up. I actually got serious Maurelle Point vibes from that plot. The added element of the actual location of the "new" course has now got me thinking about other courses that could have a second course on property...

Yep, definitely seen good and less good from DMK, but only played one of his courses and absolutely adored it. Kyle Phillips, who designed Dundonald would be up there as well actually.

Sand Valley has the room for 10+ courses of the same style. They also have a sandy wetland area to the east and a giant lake to the west that “theoretically” could have a golf course.

I mean I'm biased, but Streamsong is pretty much tailor-made for King Collins. Flat terrain, sandy waste, and wild greens. Though I would also love to see a Clayton/DeVries or Geoff Ogilvy bring a little bit of the Sandbelt there too.
