Not that I'll be able to get my hands on one soon, but when the day comes that they are available I will be upgrading to one of the newer consoles.
I'm on XB1 right now and I'm trying to figure out the best console to upgrade to. I mostly play this game and want to put myself in the best position to score well here as its the main game I play.
My question is for those that have gone from PS4 to PS5 on this game and what sort of difference they have noticed? Is it the same feeling tempo? easier/harder?
I've heard the transition from XB1 to the XBS is night and day which almost makes me consider staying with XB but I have a feeling PS still reigns supreme.
I love the XB community but seeing some societies start to wind down, most of my focus is on TGC and just want to give myself the best chance each week.

I've heard, but don't know for sure so don't hold me to it, that the PS5 is now just as sensitive as the Xbox One swing-wise. I've heard that the PS4 controller is not as sensitive as XO which is why PS4 players generally average quite a bit better than XO. PS5 is now roughly on par with XO in that respect so who knows, maybe scores will equal out a bit more.
I'm on XO and from what I hear, I wouldn't want to be on PS4 if it really is a lot easier than what I'm currently playing. That would bore me to death.

I'm an Xbox Series X player and the change from One (original 2013 build) to Series X was night and day. The visuals improved out of sight (HD to 4K) and I felt the gameplay was a little smoother. I'd never go back and happy with the purchase. It's interesting to hear your thoughts on the PS5 controller that is now thought to be as sensitive as the Xbox controller. We might see some equalisation of scores which would be good for the Boxers! There will always be a greater representation of PS players I guess. I haven't played PS4 but if it's easier than what I experience I too would be bored to death. Some extra sensitivity is good. After all golf is not a perfect game and I've found my sweet spot in Beer League. Next year I might have a crack at CC.

I’ve gone from PS4 to PS5. Load times are faster and so is planting in the designer.
As for the controller, it feels great in hand, has a little weight to it and a little larger than the previous dual shocks.
The sticks are a bit more sensitive but not out of this world. Just need to be more mindful of your up/down pattern. Tempo seems to reflect the same as ps4 to me. My biggest issue is with me lately (reading putts has suddenly started kicking my ass), not the game, controller or system.
But I will be getting a second controller just for golf so I can maintain the integrity of the stick springs longer. I play a lot of other games where I’m pretty “heavy thumbed” with it so it’s in my best interest to do that lol.
I haven’t played the game on XB1 so I can’t make a true comparison on that end.

The controller is more sensitive, so harder to hit the tempo, partial shots are really hard and putting is tougher, easier to go offline. Playing on Master setting. The controller is noticeably bigger too! Positive... the game loads faster and runs smoother!

Is there much of an advantage to PC designer vs. PS5? I would assume there’s still only two undo clicks on PS5. Are the load times at least close between the two?

I have never designed on a PC, but I can say it is far superior designing on PS5 than PS4. The planting is almost instantaneous as well as the sculpting clicks. I'm not sure about the more than two undo clicks, but from a speed perspective it is miles better. Actually playing the game is a little more difficult I am finding so far. Tempo is a little more erratic and I am lost trying to figure out putting at the moment. All in all it is so much smoother and looks amazing. Worth the upgrade for sure and once I get used to the controller I'm going to have to check into some kind of addiction group.

I know there are other things such as more undos, flyovers, etc. but my main frustration is loading from planting/sculpting clicks on PS4.

I was watching some streams on twitch and from what I could see if seems pretty close to some of the PC guys. I almost look forward to planting sometimes now.

Does anyone know if they will be doing any rendering changes for the ps4 game on ps5 (or just releasing a ps5 version of this game at some point)? So on user created courses that are tall grass heavy you would be able to see it further out?

Ps5 is so much harder to play as it is more sensitive in every way but is so much more fun than calibrating a certain way and hacking it round on a ps4. 60hz looks amazing plays amazing but it is a massive challenge. I would love to see my api variation compared to ps4. Its all over the show!!!!! But love it. Ive hardly played except for tgc rounds and even that was with very little interest. 60hz ps5 is pure filth and actually really enjoy playing again. Im having to completely retrain my swing cos gone are the ps4 days of calibrate and bash with minimal skill. Its a beast of a game now!

Hi All! I was recently able to snag a PS5 from the Direct queue the other day and was curious how the leaderboards work along with the ps4 version? Is all playstation combined in this scenario? Or is PS5 seperate?
It's interesting to hear the differences between the versions on the PS4 & PS5. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to re-adjust!
Thanks!

Playing this game on PS5 will still show you as playing on PS4 as far as TGCTours leaderboards goes. PS5 is backwards compatible to play PS4 games and PGA2k21 is an example of that. There will be some learning curve on your end, but IMO it is a better experience overall with fluid play and smoothness even if the DualSense controller is somewhat harder than a PS4 Dualshock. In the graphics settings the 60Hz setting is now an option that the PS5 can handle. I enjoy it and I encourage you to give it a try. Congrats on snagging a PS5!
