The shame is my swing plane and tempo have never been better, so I don't know if I should be disappointed about not making the most of it or happy that even when rare bad shots get badly penalised and easy putts get missed I make the cut! Hopefully I can keep up the form and have luck on my side in the following weeks and eventually sneak in a top 10 by stringing 4 good rounds together. I go with option B. Right after I had my PB here, I got into a tempo slump and it took me some time to figure out the part of my swing that was messed up. Now being back at a level where I get some nice scores in societies and here on the Tours and in side events (advertisement: Happy Tee Friends), I just try to achieve consistency and avoid letting new errors creep into my swing. Since this is difficult enough for me, I'm simply happy with every cut I make. Cheers!

56/58/62/61 for -47. had one of those rounds where the ball just didn't want to go in the hole in R3, and a complete tempo implosion after birdieing my first 4 holes in R4. nerves of being in the hunt for a win definitely got to me a bit, but still a personal best platinum score so can't be too upset. GL everyone left to go!

All went a bit wayward in rd4. All over the place. +1 going into the 13th.
Thankfully found some tempo and finished strong with 5 birdies out of the last 6 holes. The most satisfying grumble was I mangaged to get a few perfects going and hit a beauty straight at the mark on 16th. Waiting for the crowd to roar with a couple of inches out it was heading for an ace, but it lipped round the hole . Grumble over see you all next week.

GL everyone left to go! I 100% feel you on this, right there with you Graham. R1 was like that for me where I just felt I missed so many opportunities but still finished -9. TPC Scottsdale however is a course where I have a ton of confidence due to familiarity over the years. After my performances in rounds 2 and 3 (including my first albatross from the rough on the par 5 13th in round 3) I found myself 2 off the lead going into the final round. As I was setting up my ghost pairings I was like, uh oh, I got a real chance at this... -12 is certainly doable on this course for me...... WELP I am not ready haha A jittery 68 -3 ensued. I mean I was very fasting pitch shots, drives left and right, I suppose I putted ok, but man, I felt lost lol. Regardless I really enjoyed playing a real tour course for once, at the very least a course that made sense location wise. Look forward to playing Riviera and Pe(Co)bble Beach in the coming weeks.

Nothing and I mean nothing, hurts worse then your tempo going to absolute crap on the back nine of the second round. 4 water balls (yes you’re reading that right) shot down any chance of making the cut.
At least with those 4 water balls I still shot even par on the back 9. -10 -4= -14.
