Unfortunately, I wasn't able to plan a livestream like I had wanted to, so I followed form and produced another results video similar to the previous ones. We started this event with 32 entrants - including one brave soul who made a valiant attempt using a Nintendo Switch - and 3 alternates. We finished with 22 completed courses and two game crashes that completely wiped out dozens of hours of designers' work - one of whom rallied to reach the Top 10! While the original plan was to go from 32 to 16 to 8 and then name entrants to a podium, we ended up going from 22 to 10 to 5 and then to the podium. As with all of these contests, the judging is fairly subjective, even though we do our best to follow a standard set of guidelines. What one group of judges sees as a masterpiece can be poorly received by another group. None of these results were unanimous, and there were some, uh, discussions behind the scenes. Four different courses among the final five received first-place votes from the judges, and one course that did not appear in the top five received a first-place vote in the semi-finals. In the end, I do believe we arrived at a worthy winner, a worthy top five and a worthy top-10. Before we get to the video, I want to take the time our to thank the judges who put in a ton of effort to submit results quickly. These contests cannot happen without them. I also want to thank the members of design community who graciously lent their eyes and gave assistance to the entrants. Unique to this event is that entrants are allowed to publish betas and seek the advice of more experienced designers, making this a true community experience. Finally, I want to thank Avakrac and jimgem who did a playthrough video for every entry on their respective channels. That is above and beyond any expectation. So, with all that out of the way, and without further ado: bmckenzie69 mctrees02 cavacom admiralmurphy PhilMickLite scottish67 Heisenberg Leecey Andy Meade Laszlo GolfTek tdawgcincy thebeechum831 YouStayClassySanDiego dcforejg zachkanuck aeastwood54 jswift shawnbell greggyturner tferedrum mvpmanatee

Congrats scottish67 & @leecey- A couple of fantastic courses and I really enjoyed them both. Congrats also to everyone else that took part - I'm sure we've all improved from the feedback. Thanks to the judges and Erixonstone for running the comp. It was a lot of fun. Edit: Just realised this post was kind of a spoiler...bit hard to congratulate them without doing it though. :/

Congratulations scottish67 - Ryland Heath was my favourite rookie course and I feel like you deserved that win. But well done to the top 5, the top 10 and anyone who submitted a course in the contest - you will all keep improving with your publishes!

Congratulations to scottish67 - a well-deserved win as Ryland Heath really is a great course. I’m over the moon that the judges liked my little links course enough to put it in second place - completely unexpected given not only some of the courses in the top 5 but also some that didn’t make it that far. I’d like to add my thanks to the judges for giving up their free time to play through and rate the courses and to ErixonStone for organising the contest. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it at every stage. Thanks also to those that have tested betas and given their initial thoughts on al the courses as they’ve been worked on ( b101 and mattf27) and to the youtubers that have showcased our efforts ( Avakrac stopping for a beer at the halfway house at Dunstan was a personal highlight). Looking forward to seeing what my fellow-rookies bring out next.

Wow! just wow. I never would of guessed this, it's an honor and I'm humbled, all at the same time. Thanks to all the people involved in the rookie contest, judges, participants and players. This is a great community and I'm glad to be apart of it. I look forward to seeing all the great golf courses, from all the designers that are created in this game, there is so much creativity and uniqueness in everybody's design work and it's fun to be apart of it.
Thanks again! And as the saying goes here in the forum,"can't wait to see your next."

(Looking at you as well, nitro22. Same thing, different contest.) But I cannot wait to see how you develop as a designer. And the fact that a Surrey heathland - the golf style I've grown up near - won the contest makes it even more special. Great stuff Scott and I think I speak for anyone following the contest that we can't wait to see your next!

Congratulations to scottish67, well deserved win. Fun competition to be a part of. A lot of potential for many of the designers in this competition, not just the finalists. I think a lot can be learned from playing the better courses. Success comes from doing what other successful people do. With that being said, I'd be more than willing to offer any advice or tips I could provide from my rookie designer perspective that has been playing a lot of the better courses that have been published over the last three months or so including every course in this competition. Just shoot me a PM if I haven't already done so. Somebody that deserves an honorable mention, another rookie designer that was late to register, is HoneyBadgerHacker. Kisatchie Cove would of stacked up pretty well with the better courses in this competition in my opinion. Worth checking out.

Definitely a lot of top courses on the contest and to be mentioned among them is a nice gesture. Looking forward to playing a few of these that entered the contest. Good luck on all of your future designs and contests. I’ll be sure to enter some on the near future if time permits.

Congratulations to the top 3! All amazing courses. I am not at all mad about finishing 4th or 5th, with all the great courses that came out!
Thank you so much to all of the judges for spending the time on our courses, I know it was a long process. I can’t wait until the next contest!
I am curious, is there no way to differentiate 4th and 5th? I don’t really mind but it would be nice to at least tell people that I came in 4th or 5th! Haha
