Yep Les had the website for over a year, but i had no idea you had to clear the colour (data) off first then find the course, then put it back on to download the data,When it comes to Tech i am hopeless. You need to explain that to me I’ve not known about this colour data

Can you just check if there is lidar data for Hazelhead Golf Club in Aberdeen it’s a course I played way back in the late 70’s with my dad, it’s just a municipal course but would bring back great memories for me. I’m doing a version on my Xbox but it’s no where near accurate terrain wise.

Wouldn't trust my info les,it seems the Laz data just misses the course,it was the 1st place i looked aberdeen because i wanted to do Royal Aberdeen but the data just misses it,its seems the blue Laz data just misses your course.

Thanks for looking again Yeltz I looked using my iPad and got the same results it just misses the course, it’s fairly flat so not a lot of terrain work to do and it might be ok to put it out as a copy not an RCR. I just thought with you mentioning colour you might be able to see something I couldn’t.

I noticed I could get Lidar for St Andrews Old course but dint bother as I think the one by the CLV is pretty good if maybe not totally accurate terrain wise.

Played a few rounds on the lidar version,i feel the greens are a lot better on the lidar like most courses for some reason, but it would take a mighty task to add all the extras to really make it close to CLV's standard but so far really enjoyed playing the version with a few tweaks to it so far.At the moment i think i am going to concentrate on Prestwick need a closer version to the real course in game and with the data like below matching up so well, just a course i feel needs ro be ingame.Last post here on this subject sorry for railroading the thread. 4

Great course played it last year. Looking forward to your version. Have you seen Fortrose & Rosemarie across the firth, that’d be good in the game. Been trying my hand at a links course myself, finding it tough to get right visually with the textures and lighting... and not using all my object space on grass.

Oh man....unbelievable. I watched a random video on YouTube last night of someone playing a round IRL on Castle Stuart.
I thought what a great course that would be to do in the game. I’m off work for a bit so thought I might just have a go at learning Lidar.
Started a plot today, without Lidar, and built hole one which is similar but different, utilising the land in a random plot generated in the game. I loved the first hole so thought I might just carry on and build a whole course using Castle Stuart as inspiration.
Then I just searched for Castle Stuart on the forum and this pops up....ahh for %#{#%} sake. 😂
After seeing the plot photos I think I might just have to give up and do something else.
This looks amazing. 😊

Really look forward to this, how's progress coming along?! I'd love to make this my 'home course' in some of the societies I play in as I'm from Inverness, so very close to home!
It would be great to understand how you obtain/import Lidar data for the Scottish Highlands as there are plenty courses in the region which I'd like to try and recreate.

I get my Lidar from here but coverage is pretty thin. remotesensingdata.gov.scot/
