I think I'm drawn to certain golden age styles more, possibly because when I've tried the natural look for greens, as if they've just always been there and tie perfectly into the existing land, it never seems to work for me. On the other hand, no matter the setting, a bold squared off green seems to look just perfect to me, and gets me the most excited to play a hole.
With that said, there's probably about 5-10 or so modern designers who I'm interested in anything they produce. So really I don't often feel a need to choose one era over the other, they are both great. I'll just pass on anything coming in between those two eras, outside of the occasional Dye course.
