It's reminiscent of that ancient philosophical riddle: "Have you truly made the cut if there was no cut?" Me!!! I think.... oh wait.... I wouldn't have if there was a cut but now I have... So... Me!!! I think...

4th Round -8 The Bristol City players were tiring after the hard work they put in to get themselves back in front. Celtic just couldn't take advantage as Elynoussi, Griffiths and Rogic all had pops at goal but to no avail. With the introduction of Turnbull and Soro it was all or nothing and they got their reward with 87 minutes on the clock. A long ball forward from Ajer was knocked on by Turnbull which found McGregor just inside the box who managed to find a bit of space to coolly slot into the bottom right corner. Some say the little midfielder is that good that he could find space on a single bed with Gemma Collins. Extra time may be needed to find a winner in this match.

Liverpool continue their fine play. Nice crisp passes, and even a few shots as well. They are trying everything, because they need a goal, and soon. (-12).

As is the norm, Rovers are the last team t make an appearance, and they keep that tradition up even to the final game of the season. Tranmeres coach has had personal issues to deal with this week so he hasn't spent anytime on the training ground and had his assistants sort everything out for todays match ... will they do better and get their first win of the season, and if so will the board be looking at hiring from within for next season?? R1 69 (Net 63) R2 72 (Net 66) R3 66 (Net 60) R4 68 (Net 62)

They think it's all over!Well nearly. Perhaps fittingly, only the Covid Champion's League final is yet to be resolved. The inability of the Luxembourgers to put away the 'lesser' teams is perhaps the best example of the score adjustors working as intended, although having two CC-D and a CC-I player in the main competition, backs this up. Two of the most fervent real-life supporters met in the 13th place playoff. Both Celtic Wolf and Giraffe72 found their best form of the season. Although sid snott still has the final round to complete, thetaffman has secured the Battle of the Comb. He holds an unassailable 2-0 lead which sees Tranmere avoid bottom spot. I will post the penalty shootout when my image server comes back online, but the really keen of you can view it on the score sheet. Thank you very much to all participants who have made the last eight weeks relatively stress free from my perspective and have thrown yourselves into things with enthusiasm and good humour. I will shortly be opening the season two thread and it looks like we will have 20 participants, given John's incapacitation and a woeful response to adverts. If the new thread sparks a bit of interest then we may still get to the hoped for 24 players. I will finish on a shameless plug for the NFL Quarterback event LEFTY79 runs. It starts up shortly and he is looking for three participants to play one round a week. Several of us are already involved but if you have another round in you check out his thread and have an opportunity to get involved with the competition that inspired this and, by a country mile, the best score sheet in Pixel Golf. I still can’t believe Burton Albion are a possible 45 minutes and stoppage time away from Pixel Golf Football immortality, but here we are!

“Play like it’s 0-0!” Win every ball!” “Let’s go boys!” JFH’s words at half time kept Burton Albion on task to start the second half. The Brewers were on the cusp of Pixel Golf Football greatness but they knew their opponents weren’t chopped liver. However, on this day, Liverpool ran into a Burton Albion buzzsaw (-13, -10). Congratulations to The Reds crushtastic on a great run! Time to party Burton! Thank you once again Greg honeybadger64 for an excellent, well-run season one!

After conceding a goal early in the 2nd half, Liverpool seemed dejected. Even though thay played reasonably well, they were just not good enough to match this great Burton team. This culminated in another goal to Burton late in the match. (-8) What looked on paper as a fairly even match up, turned into a 4-0 schlacking at the hands of a ruthless Brewers Side, Well done to the champions, Burton Albion Brewers. LEFTY79
