Tough conditions out there this week - how low can you go?

What is the best way to start a tournament? A triple bogey? WRONG. What about back to back triples? CORRECT. so +6 after 2 i buckled in for what was sure to be a disaster. Actually ended at E for the round. Went under par in the 2nd and 4th rounds, but got ate up in the 3rd with a +4. Ended at +1 for the tournament, knowing I left so many shots out there, Im disappointed but this course was not my course, so I will take it and hope for a decent result.

I had a consistent, but disappointing tournament (72-73-72-73 -+2). A lot of scrambling to make par and trying to capitalize on the few birdie chances I had...I actually made a decent number of birdies...the problem was all the bogeys on the very next hole! Two disappointing tourneys in a row for me!

Disappointing tournanment for me also (71-74-71-74) = +2
Was -4,-5 at points in most of the rounds but just couldn't stay clear of they darn bogies. To compound matters I had a triple bogey on the 72nd hole. Nightmare!!

brutal winds first round but i played thru it as i always do..evs med-high winds 2nd round -3
not a great deal of fun to be honest, not a fam of he course, stimp and firmness is all wrong and does not play fair with the slopes, especially in high wind...sorry but not a tour course imo.

Caught in the wind +5 rd 1 but can't blame the course it's a proper challenge like whistling straights, love it

1st round had good wind and shot 68. 2nd round...not so much 73. Need to play 3 and 4... I'll get one in tonight and the other tomorrow.

Course is great! Execute well and birdies to be had. Miss and it bites you. Very hard to get through 18 without getting caught out at least once.

What a test!! Started out in 15 mph and had my thoughts about that! After 3 holes it died down to about 8-13mph for the rest of the round. You get some loooong holes on this course, and with hard, bouncy fringes, and greens that just rolls on and on, my GIR was WAY down, so I'm sure glad I have practiced my 11/13 yard flop-shot, because that was certainly needed!!! Finished round 1 on a -3! That's my best result on this course, so now I'm just happy! Now I need a break and a good whiskey!! Good luck out there!

Round 1 1 of my playing partners played to a different fairway for an easier approach, are there rules for not being allowed to do this on the tour? Seems unfair and not very wise, I'm on ps4 I'll find out the hole later

Greetings fellow Euro members. Based on the horror stories I'm reading here, kinda glad I skipped the pond over to the PGA this week.

Hi Auldy. Not sure if youre thinking about me. On one of the par 5s, I played on a left fairway, as I had a LOT of tailwind, and really could hit a big drive there. Wouldn't have done it in any other circumstances. This is allowed in real life, and here, as long as it is not stated otherwise. I tried it in my round 3 as well, then I hit it in the bunker, and made a bogey, if that makes you any happier...

I played to fairway 6 on hole 2 in the last round. Never tried it before in design but saw a guy do it and thought I'd try it once. Didn't really make a big difference though. I slogged through and THREW AWAY SO MANY SHOTS!! Grrr... Finished up -1 or -2...I don't recall. Was fun to see this course get used. I wasn't sure "The Open" version would ever see many plays. I saw so much WRONG on the course. I want to go back and update it now...but I don't have time for all that. Let it ride...

Seems unfair and not very wise, I'm on ps4 I'll find out the hole later You see wayward shots hit from other parts of the course all the time. St. Andrews (Scotland) has double fairways, you can hit it anywhere. It's not like in the game you have to worry about hitting and injuring someone. In my view, it's part of the logic in having the entire course load up as one piece of land, and is entirely fair game.

It's true what your saying about St andrews, the perfect example would be the 1st and 18th but your not carrying rought that's splitting the holes, iv never seen a pro intentionally do it, I could be wrong but sportsmanship comes to mind.
