Well, last week I went and played on the Euro Tour to hopefully just make a cut and stop my plummet down the WGR. I hadn't made a cut since I played in the WGC Cadillac Championship. I wound up tied for 36th, not a great finish, but it jumped me up a few spots in the Rankings which was nice, and during the tournament, if it wasn't for my one round of even par, I felt like I could compete again. The confidence was back.
So, alas, I hadn't qualified for The Masters, and found myself at Berckmans Place Classic, feeling an opportunity awaiting with many of the top players on the Tour at Magnolia National.
After 3 practice rounds, which is high for me, i found myself in some good wind and teeing off on hole 1.
My first round went well. I even hit some shots that I didn't see in the practice rounds that turned out great for me, like driving a par 4, and hitting a slope in a way that it came back close to the hole. Round 1 - 57
The second round started a little bit slower, but as is the case whenever I get hot, I birdied like 12 of 13 to finish the round for a nice score. Round 2 - 58
Round 3 I can't really remember much about, other than hitting a tree and then making birdie on a par 5. Round 3 - 60
Round 4, my front 9 was not good at all. I shot a 32 and wasn't even close on some, made par on a par 5, it was a disaster. Then i got hot again on the back to shoot 29. Round 4 - 61
It felt good to play well BEFORE the cut for once. I have shot 56 3 times on TGC this year, but each time I missed the cut by 1 shot (-21 the first time, -22 the second time, for the missed cuts). Hopefully this will continue to be a nice result for me. I need the ranking points.

Struggled out of the gate in round 1, but cleaned it up on the back 9 to finish with a 63. Started out hot on the front in round 2, but stumbled down the stretch on the back to a 64. In my frustration I signed my name incorrectly on my scorecard. Classic Fraser.

First round of 54 for me Playing on an exemption, I will most likely never putt like that again in my life. But with 3 sub-58 rounds that will hopefully get me close to the top.

In hindsight, I wish I hadn't registered for this event. I got a couple of practice rounds in on the weekend, and after finishing the front 9 of my first round at -10, I was already bored of the course. No offence to the actual course itself, but there really are no challenging holes and you can pretty much shoot at least 15-under playing on autopilot. Considering I don't have much time this week as it is, I can't bring myself to spend the time to play four more rounds here. As I said already, I am not meaning to be rude to anyone here. The course is nicely designed and all, but I'm simply not motivated to play four more rounds where almost no thought process is required on any shot. I realize not everyone will like every course, which is fair enough, but I was hoping for something a bit more challenging (this is a PGA Tour event after all!!). Anyways, apologies for the rant, but good luck to everyone out there! I'll be withdrawing for the first time this week, and hopefully next week will be something a bit more to my taste

I'm not at all saying the event is too easy and I would've won. I can almost guarantee I would not have won actually. That's not my point. As I said in my post, I was simply saying that I felt that the course didn't provide any challenging holes, and little thought was required on most shots. I prefer tougher courses to easier ones regardless of where I end up on the leaderboard. I would get much more enjoyment from scoring a -2 or -3 on a challenging course than scoring -15 on a course that doesn't require any thought when hitting your shots. I would suggest that if you can't simply take my post at face value and understand what my actual point was, you should refrain from posting at all. I was by no means trying to say that I'm better than anyone or "too good for the event". I am very average at the game, and I'm the first to admit that. I prefer a challenge and would love to see winning scores be a bit more realistic, but I understand that others don't care about the challenge as much and enjoy these "shootouts". To each their own, my friend. My post was not intended to provoke anyone into making comments like the one you made, it was simply made to voice an opinion of mine. But I guess that's not something I should do around here?

Greetings. Thought I'd spend a week in the old homeland instead of grinding with the Euros for a week. Plus the payday is a lot fatter. I'd have to say after the stern tests being thrown at us the last two weeks I didn't mind an easy week to let some wounds to the ego heal. It was nice not having to use an astrolabe and sextant to line up my putts. Off to a 57-59 start. Its actually borderline perverse to think of the sickos off playing Magnolia National this week would do to that course. I'm sure someone would've gotten into the high 40s. I think the fish in San Quentin would be treated nicer.

I am not good at this game, and I have never claimed to be anything more than average. I would just prefer to see some tougher courses use for PGA events. I thought this was a mature community, but I guess some people just like to stir the pot. Oh well. I guess having an opinion is a crime these days.

I think they didn't want to put another top notch event on while the Masters was taking place. This course had about 20 plays on PC before the tournament started... it's clearly a filler week and those are gonna happen... they happen on the real PGA tour When someone who isn't exactly tearing it up says they want it to be tougher it screams that they're hoping the field comes back to them but what do I know I only managed -9 on my first round on this no brainer no thought whatsoever course where -15 is a given all you have to do is tee it up. The last two weeks have been difficult and you failed to make the cut so it's tough to think you're serious when you want more of the same unless you like slamming the trunk on Friday? In real life players the level of you and I would be salivating at this week as a way to put some dough in the bank and up that fedex/wgr ranking but you're saying "no thanks too easy"? It's weird.

For the first 8 holes in Round 1, I was getting the dreaded 91% to 94% shots. Finally had to pull out my thumbstick and pop it back in. That did the trick. Was +1 thru 8 and finished with a -6 66. Recovered nicely after that. 66 62 59 62 = -39 Hopefully -16 makes the cut.

Normally I don't mind playing the easier weeks as well, but it's a combination of the fact that I didn't really get anything out of the course and I already have a busy week ahead. Normally, I still enjoy playing the easier courses as well, but this one just didn't do anything for me. Honestly just a personal preference. Also, I don't mind missing cuts because of playing tougher course, as I find that I learn more about what mistakes I'm making and it helps me to improve. So I'm not trying to say it's too easy, just that I prefer a bit more of a challenge because it makes me more aware of my mistakes and I can work out how to try and fix them

60, 57, 58, 57 for a total of -56 for the week. Wish I could have been in the big daddy tourney going on, but trying to play a few tourneys early on in 16-20mph winds gave me some missed cuts and doomed my chances. Anyways, Nice easy course after playing the past 2 weeks lol. I was cruising right along at -14 thru 14 holes on my 4th round but when I got to #15 pulled out a 92%'r on my 2nd shot into the bunker followed by a lost connection a few seconds later. Reconnected and it was like a light switch was flipped, struggled to par 15,16,17 after 14 straight birdies and scratched out a birdie on #18. Thought for sure I was going to hit -18 for the round, oh well. After my 47th place at Bison Run and 20th place finish at Fire Rock I've jump up 101 spots in the WGR so hopefully I can continue my climb with this one!

I am playing horribly the past few weeks and only managed a pedestrian 63 and 61 and am not sure if that will make the cut or not.
