I am new to designing and just purchased 2019 for PC on the Stream sale. A couple of questions. I was able to set up OSM for my course and that seemed to pull in fine. But it seems like the Lidar info doesn't have quite the contours that the course has, it seems like it is fairly flat. Is there a general guide for Chad's tool that tells when clicking on a box will give you or pull into your course? Just thinking that maybe I didn't click a box or turned something off. Also, is there a reason not to design the course on PC with 2019 or should I publish and pull into 2K21 and design on Xbox? OSM info www.openstreetmap.org/edit#map=16/46.8627/-92.2817I can only find one set of Lidar for this area, Thanks in advance for any info.

Unless there has been changes Lidar is PC only, can't import it into xbox.....You can play it on xbox, but you wont be able to edit it.
Love to edit a few on xbox if i had the chance.

I use a combination of '19 and 2k21 on PC, but I pretty much do all the "design" work exclusively in 2k21 due to the many improvements in the designer.
IMO, 2k21 on a mid-range or better PC is the best platform for building lidar based courses. Lidar data (both elevation and vegetation) use a very large amount of object space and creates additional lag when editing the course, and this designer lag can be exacerbated on the consoles.
Being that that course only has a couple of holes, it should pose no problem on Xbox. BTW, there are problems with your OSM that need to be addressed for successful import and you may want to watch some of the tutorials. But you can't PUBLISH the course on PC and then edit it on Xbox. You would need to transfer the course file from PC to Xbox.

I don't think there is a way to transfer the file into the xbox designer in 2k21.
perhaps some clever people can find a way.

There are some file browser apps for the xbox that should allow you to copy the actual file over to where the xbox course files are located, but if the 2k21 designer doesn't 'see' a PC derived course file then that does pose a small problem.

I plan on going into OSM and redoing a bunch of that. Is that what you mean by the problems or is there something else that I am missing. Thanks for the info on publishing and editing on Xbox. I wasn't sure about that, but now it kind of makes sense.

I wasn't sure about that, but now it kind of makes sense. The lidar king tutorials are a good start and should be sufficient background for this course. There were lines that should be areas and hole tags on fairways when that doesn't do anything. Things like that. Map out a single hole with all the features and import that, see how it looks and if everything is as it should be, do the remaining holes just like the first.
