Out of town so I will keep this brief. Amazing RCR we are at this week was done by hickoryghost. Please do visit his completed course Thread to learn more about how he has brought a previously dead course back to life. Couple of rounds with some tougher green conditions to battle the fact that this one is so short. Expecting low scores for sure, but just thought this one was too good to pass up no matter the length.

A really wise man once said: βWhat the hell am I doing here? I donβt belong hereβ.
Somehow I find myself in Elite from Kinetic.
Rounds per tour so far for me: CC-E (4) CC-D (4) CC-C (2) Kinetic (2)
Humbled to be competing with you all. Held my own this week: -13/-6/-7/-4 (-30). Great course! Really enjoyed the layout and the views.

I had the same feeling a couple of weeks ago when I made my way here through the promo event from CC-G, but 2 made cuts later, including a top 25 finish, and I feel like I at least belong. 62 in the first round - hoping to keep it going through the week.

-20 after 36h. I missed a lot of putts, too streaky at times.

-10 after R2 and I'd say I'm for the chop. Still struggling with lousy XB feel but I couldnt sit out any longer. Things were looking good for awhile there as I tore up career mode on same difficulty settings but banana swing plane putts are back and costing me a lot of strokes....nevermind the other crap.

God bless any Xbox soul who has battled far enough to get up to elite.

God bless any Xbox soul who has battled far enough to get up to elite. Ah sure, who doesn't love a good weekly struggle! It's just the total inconsistency of feel that's a killer....but I harp on about it enough.....so enough of that. (I'll just grit the teeth and get on with it from now on, I mean it this time ha!).

-9 after R2 and have to just hope to avoid the demo mark. Course was not bad, but some of the pins in round 2... Very frustrating to hit a putt with the correct speed, only to have it barely roll past the hole, and then a few seconds later end up 23 yards away. I'm looking at you Hole 3

I'm looking at you Hole 3 I freaking 4-putted that hole for double trying to avoid putting it off the green :-) 68 in round 2 to go with my round 1 62. -14 after 2 rounds and sweating the cut line. Have a feeling that the cut will fall at -15. Round 2 conditions are harder than round 1, but I thought it was still a fair test of golf. There's a hereditary tremor in my family that showed up on some shorter putts (my hands shake when it's bad), otherwise I'd be comfortably in for the weekend and only a couple worse than my first round (I figure round 2 is playing about 3 shots harder than round 1). Fun having the yips in a video game :-)

A solid -12 was followed by an unremarkable -5 in Rd 4. -37 overall. I need to work out how to play flop and pitch shots. Happy 2021 everyone!

First week on Elite, up from Kinetic. Looks like I'm making the cut as I'm sitting -15 through 2. Had a nice 5-putt, and missed some really short putts on those slick 187s in R2, but battled back with some good shots down the stretch. See you this weekend.

Going into my first round on the back of two -14 (my best ever score on masters) and a -13, I was all set up to take on the course. Yep... the usual nerves got me, along with some silly missed putts which saw me shoot a -6. I rallied to shoot a -9 in the second to make another cut. -29 after 4 rounds. I'm starting to believe that maybe my game is good enough for Elite!?
The course...well what can I say. A brilliant vision and exectution of a course that isn't there to see, so it's recreation is even more remarkable. Also excellent condition choices by the schedulers. High winds and very firm conditions made even this course a real test, and shows that when thought it put into designing and setting a course up correctly, it can play exactly how one visualised it may have done.
The most enjoyable part for me was deciding my own strategy. Beyond the design strat, I noticed there were a few tee shot decisions that I made (using other fairways to satisfy the approach angles that I visualised), that no other streamer that I watched used. An infinite possibilties course is an interesting concept. Whilst this set up definitely makes the course easier and fairways in regulation % is likely to be in the 90's, there is a real demand on creating greens where pin positions, and how to guard them becomes the main consideration. Anyway...enough rambling.
Loved it.

Enjoyed the course, very scoreable.
Too many burnt edges and boggies to be competitive around the top 20 this week .
Happy New Year
