A few months after coming off one of the most visually and strategically impressive courses I have played (I'll always rave about Windstone and West Forest), you drop this bad boy?
Flippin' heck bud. You've done a cracking job here. I'll try and play it by Friday because my school schedule is pretty tight. Not a heathland of the British type, but a heathland regardless and a great looking one at that. Great job, well done!

And you are correct, this is in no way a British heathland course but more of a heathland style course from Massachusetts or somewhere in the northeast US. Some of the courses I used as inspiration are Old Sandwich, Boston Golf Club, and Hidden Creek.

grovey31 Pure golf right here! We definitely have the same vision when it comes a heathland style course. My favorite holes were the 6th and 13th, very nicely designed. Just love the thought process you go through on each hole, on how it can be played and how the greens will play from that position. It's something I can get better at. Thanks again for some tips on my course, it definitely helped my course design.

My number one goal is to create a variety of fun and interesting holes so happy to hear you were engaged the whole round. Also glad you liked 6 and 13, they are some of my favorites too. Your new course looks awesome by the way and it's very high on my "to play" list. I'll be sure to post my feedback on your thread. Thanks again!

Another killer course Adam. Loved the routing too. Throwing this on the elite tour right away.

Loved it as ever. Feel like I need to play all four pins just for the long par three with the biarritz ish thing alone. Great greensites as per usual and I love the classic grovey mini punchbowls that make your courses so much fun. I'll be back for every other pinset throughout my Dream Team judging.

Thanks for the play and the feedback Ben, I appreciate it. Really glad you liked that par three with the "biarritz ish thing" green haha, that's one of my favorite holes on the course and was a really fun one to build.

Beautiful course grovey! Ben is right, there's a definite fun factor here that's in all of your courses that make them a joy to play! Not sure how to describe it but it's there!

Enjoyed my round here, excellent golf course. A lot of strategy required to navigate the course well enough for a good score and the Greens are very well done. Nice to see it recently got handicapped. In regards to plant meter, do you single plant everything? I'm on PS4 too and that just seems like it would take forever and wouldn't be fun. I'm single planting the vast majority of plants on my current design, but not everything. My first two courses had 99.9% object meter.

Thanks for the play and thanks for the positive feedback. I ended at 99% on the meter on this one. I do not usually single plant but on this course, I did A LOT more than normal. The bushes and trees on the interior of the property were mostly single planted apart from a few. It did take a while but I had a specific vision for the planting on this one and it was essential to get the look I wanted so I had to suck it up. It's not my favorite part of the process at all so I try to be as efficient as possible. I focused the majority of my planting effort on teeing areas, landing areas, and greens to make those spots look best. One trick is to keep your routing tight so you can plant one side of a hole that also plants the opposite side of the hole next to it. I'm not a planting expert BY FAR but my mindset is always efficiency. Hope that helps!
